MP deliveries using Hermes

Just checking but what happens with deliveries from Hermes if you aren't in? Reschedule or pickups? Never heard of them as a delivery company before. I went for them over Yodel and DPD just because both of those companies are pretty awful from previous experience.

Lots of people moan about Yodel, but i have never had a problem with them.

I think it all depends on the individual that is delivering to your area, my Yodel deliveries nearly always come through a young lady and she now delivers them to me in the evening as she knows i out during the day and i live alone.

They try and re call if not reschedule IIRC. I've never had a problem with Yodel either. I missed a delivery then had a text off the guy who tried to deliver asking what time I was gonna be home, then messaged me when he was on his way lol a bit creepy but FairPlay to the guy

Yodel in Belfast is pretty unreliable in my experience.

As I understand it, Hermes and Yodel are the same company.

Go easy on their couriers though. They don't appear to have much going for them.

I've never had a problem with the few things I've had sent with Hermes. I do hate delivery companies though. Those bad experiences of waiting in all day and nothing arriving stick in your mind. I think it happens with them all from time to time.

Seems to vary a lot. Personally I have havent had a problem with Hermes , but others have.
You had problems with DPD ? First time that I have heard of anyone not getting perfect service from them.
DPD are my current go to option.

DPD over here are a nightmare. I agree that it comes down to the drivers how they get on. Here they tend to knock the door lightly and if you aren't there within 2 seconds (not even exaggerating on that) they go. Their depot in Belfast doesn't open late enough for people who work full time to get there and on a saturday they only open between 9 and 10:30am.  Basically they really do expect you to be standing at the door with your hands out waiting.

DPD are the only service I've used that actually give a period of an hour when something will be delivered. Royal Mails online updates dont change until they have delivered the parcel.

I don't mind royal mail though. Cos i'm in work then gym every day stuff just gets delivered to the local post office, which is 5 mins walk from my house, so handy enough.  I know a few in work who get stuff delivered there but the senior managers don't like it and would be my luck to get caught and reprimanded.

It was the text updating that sold me on DPD. Giving a one hour window to be in to accept parcel and option to change date if inconvenient.
Im guessing other couriers offer this now ?

Yodel were awful when I used MP. They just left the delivery on a friend's doorstep even though there were no instructions asking them to do so!

I think Hermes with MP was more money, so I switched to TPW who deliver using DPD. Very reliable.

do My Protein offer delivery options

cheapest and nastiest service = Hermes
A little bit more expensive = TNT/DPP etc

I do honestly think you pay for what you get, pay for cheap and nasty service, you'll get it and shouldnt really moan.
If there are better options with better service on offer, pay for it and have reduced hassle with your orders

Worked out okay. The delivery fella missed me yesterday, left a card saying he'd be here this afternoon and has just been, so Hermes here seem ok. The one thing he didn't do was to leave details on his card for contact in case of a need to rearrange.

I think though that unless i'm going to be off work, i'll get stuff delivered either to work or my dad's house in the future.

Is it more than TPW though? They also don't send out samples when they're meant to
I've always had a positive experience with ordering from TPW, until otherwise, I'd definitely stick with them
