Mac codec help

I have samsung camcorder and can't for the life of me get the vids to play on my Mac.

Its says it needs some kind of codec and links me to a site but the site has alot on and doesn't give you any clues to which one you need.

I want to lump together about 10 small videos and play them on my Mac. Is there anything I can download to do this.

Simple answers please, I am very, very computer dumb.

    Hi Tony

Try the VLC player for the Mac - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html

Lets go back a bit then.

Can you post the link of the site that it refers you to? By it, do you mean Quicktime?

Can you let me know how you got the video from your camcorder to your Mac in the first place?

This might help too (codec that Mac often stumbles on)

iMovie should just be able to import them straight from your camcorder if you plug it into the mac

Download Flip4mac as it contains some codecs that you need. I'm sure of it. I used to have problems seeing certain movie formats until I got it. You only need the components. Clicksy
