Mac nerds!

I've been grappling with an impulse to buy a MacBook for a while now.

I've held off, thinking that Apple were going to launch an ultra-portable akin to the Sony Vaio TZ series.

Then they launched the Mac Air, which while nice, doesn't really float my boat. I'm after something more compact rather than just thinner.

So, does anyone think or know if Apple are gonna do a smaller TZish type MacBook or is the Air it?

Don't think we are likely to see anything along these lines for a while - although I know many people that would snap up a 12" Macbook pro - I even thought of buying an old 12" powerbook from eBay , as they are a lovely laptop IMO - pictured here next to the current macbook

....Although I love the form factor - the step backwards in terms of spec was a concern !

I suspect the next thing we would be likely to see would be a 10" Tablet - along the lines of the iPhone , but (hopefully ) running full OS X rather than the iPhone version

The Powerbook is lovely, however I'm not sure if I could revert to 'narrow-screen' these days.

    I know, I know.

The truth is that I run a perfectly serviceable G5 iMac.

I like it. It does everything I ask.

However I'd like to be able to read Muscletalk at the dining table, in bed and on the bog, so really I need a MacBook.

    Don't I?

Regular Macbook is small enough, imo. Not very heavy and does what it's supposed to.

There'll be no release until the purchase is made.

    Damn you, you Mac temptress!

The only thing that's holding me back from pressing the buttons right this instant is that I can get discount if I buy it through work.

So, rashness is stalled. For the moment.

I was hoping for a "buy it with one click from Amazon moment" anything else just isn't the same.

As I said I put it off so missed the moment.

Ended up in PC world. Almost ruined the moment.

Don't let it happen to you.

    Apple sucks, PC rules! !

JK2......... think of microsoft for pitty's sake, they'll go under otherwise. Way under!
