Man vs Tiger

Nope, no video I'm afraid, although I'm sure there are plenty out there.

Question is, under any circumstances do you think a man could come out as the victor of a one on one fight with a fully grown adult tiger?

Let's say it's no ordinary man and it's a UFC fighter... would it be possible to get on top and choke the tiger or would it's neck be too strong?

The tiger is 800lbs of muscle.

The man would die a quick death.

Unless the man was armed with a machine gun or similar he will be torn to pieces.

    What a silly question.

Thai was obviously referring to Siberian Tigers

Weights of up to 700lb have been recorded and 800lb have been reported but not confirmed...

But, lets be honest, what we really want to know is if a human would win against a fully grown Liger, the largest 'big cat' species. Currently the largest known specimen being "Hercules" that weighs in at 900lb.

Seriously these things are rediculously big:

Some of the above answers are simply not true.  I've seen Tarzan manage it at least a couple of times, so it can be done.

    Hercules is a big moggy!

^^ Fortunately for Tarzan the tigers were probably rather confused wandering around the African jungle - all that thinking "WTF?  Where am I" probably left them with little desire for fighting.

Hercules is a cross breed of a Lion and a Tiger (the Lion gene being dominant), that's like if Brock Lesnar and Fedor had a child.

    I wouldn't call him a moggy to his face....lol

    No would I!

Ligers are interesting but a bit of a dead end - I'm slightly suspicious about the origins of some of them.

The only way the man would win is if the tiger choked on him when eating him!

They only mate in captivity (unlike Tigons - the other kind of hybrid).  I'm rather suspicious that some of them (most?) have been forced into it, or inseminated.  After all Tigers and Lions can rarely stand each others' presence.  The thing about it that's slightly dodgy is that the mother cannot give birth naturally as the cub is too big.  The Liger itself often doesn't live very long as they aren't really a natural occurrence.

Yeah I thought that was what you were getting at.

I guess rather a lot of 'playing god' or messing with evolution is involved.
