lol of course they do , they shift a load of their product at one go, their not the only ones to do this. Plus it gets the customer to by a realistic amount to have an effect on their body. example they buy one tub of promax....they use.......10 days later........."that did fcuk all i aint buying that stuff again". blah blah blah, its maketing and it works.

Another point is if you do say take them up on the offer of buy 3 get one free, that makes each tub 23.99 each, which isnt that much more from the COST price in you local shops.

Another vote for wheyconsortium and myprotein from me

Buying 5kg for £35 makes it a cheap protein source - cheaper than the cheapest of cheap tinned tuna or frozen chicken. Get some nesquik or crusha for flavour if you must, but it makes no sense paying so much for what is essentially the same thing.

Can someone point me to the direct link where i can get 5kg for £35? and also how much protein does the stuff from wheyconsortium and myprotein give you per serving?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply!

What i could make from it is...the myprotein stuff is Whey Concentrate, and Promax is Isolate. Isolate is better quality. Does anyone actually find a difference between the two? cause theres no point in buying cheap whey if its just gonna be crap.

Promax is a great product its just a crying shame they don't price it at the golden £32 per 5lb level or even just above they would corner the market ! as it is .. If its Isolate you want buy All The Whey for £35 for 5 lb tastes nice and mixes well .. basically Promax at a decent price ...

personally cant stand promax, nor do i ultimately rate its quality

like a designer T shirt IMO..no better quality, more money and can be repllicated far cheaper

i use extreme, far better taste, quality and value

or simply go for myprotein as the guys say above

dont even get me started on cyclone

it is a very basic formula that can be repliacted at a far cheaper price, taste is poor and is simply sold on reputation over quality

its simply whey, dextrose, creatine and HMB,

so, pointless if you are running CEE, crap if you dont want sugar in your diet and even worse if you want value for money

I agree totally on Cyclone. There are loads of crap products like that- protein + 1 or 2 extra supplements that can be bought separately, thrown together, marketed as some kind of miracle supplement and sold at an extortionate price, eg

Cyclone- whey protein + dextrose + creatine + HMB (the last of which by most accounts is fairly useless anyway)

Ribomax- whey protein + dextrose + creatine + ribose (as above but even worse)

Cell-Tech- whey protein + masses and masses of dextrose + creatine + alpha lipoic acid

Pro-Recover- whey protein + dextrose + vitamin C + "Eastern bloc adaptogenics" (!) (I'm quite a fan of Dorian Yates Approved products on the whole but that one takes the piss).

There's no "correct" way to take it- indeed, talking of "taking" it at all makes it sound something like a medicine, when all it is is food. Similarly, there's no "too much" or "not enough"- again, it's not like medicine, where there's a correct dosage.

Promax is just whey protein; whey protein is just protein and protein is just food. You should aim to get around 1 gram of protein per lb of bodyweight in your diet daily. Where you get it from is neither here nor there. In most respects, whey protein is no better than most other form of protein (meat, eggs, milk etc.).

A couple of specific points:

- Whey is a particularly good source of protein after training because it is absorbed quickly. Have 20-30g of it with 50-60 grams of dextrose mixed in water immediately after a workout.

- For the same reason, whey is not a particularly good source of protein to have before you go to bed. Mixing it with milk is a good way to go because milk also contains casein.

- At other times of the day, have whey in whatever form you like in order to get in the amount of protein you need.

I have no idea what "body tech tone and burn is", but I would bet quite a lot that it is more or less useless.

was just reading new research that suggests that casein protein maybe just as effective as whey, anyone else read this?
