Maximuscle

Maximuscle was sold for 75 million pounds, and turnover this tax year(April 2008) was forecasted at 44 million. The boys a fool , but he must be doing something right. Just imagine what his sales would be if he knew what he was doing; or recruited someone who does?

My understanding was that Zef sold for £9m a while ago to an investment bank who have now sold it to Nestle for £24m .. no idea about the turnover but they are in pretty good shape ..

I heard £9m as well. He will not be getting a cut this time around as I think it's more of a figurehead thing. If he does.... jammy.

Pretty sure Nestle did not buy it, think it was another investment company. Nestle were reported to be interested.

They must be expecting big things from the industry to sell it for that.

Putting hypothetical numbers in, the PE ratio is pretty chunky.

Yes agreed but I think it is Maximuscles relentless charge into the mainstream market that is doing it . It is great news for the industry as love em or hate em they are breaking down alot of barriers in perception from the general public about sports nutrition .. Can only help everyone

Totally. I have an interesting theory about what happens long term - re. their premium position and the impact of the internet in an ever more educated market - but I think for the next few yrs at least, they're going to do very well.

It's a case in point for what private equity can do to a firm imo - they always get bashed in newspapers....but a lot of the recent achievements Maximuscle have had come thanks to the massive budget, experience, infastructre and ambition VC's bring to the table.

It'll be interesting to see if they expand more internationally now - CNP have a very young, but good US presence, Maximuscle will benefit from their strong links to Asda / Walmart & H&B.

How old was he when he started the business mate? What got the VC's interested in it?
