Meal prep help (rice)

When rice has been cooked in rice cooker what is proper way of storing? Should I take straight from rice cooker and run rice under cold tap until rice is cold then store in fridge or leave to cool then put in fridge?

Then take out of fridge and microwave untill hot to heat up?

I always leave to cool, then store in fridge I only cook for a couple days at a time don't really like the idea of leaving rice too long then re-heating I know re-heating rice can make you quite bad, what I have done when its on offer is buy the uncle bens brown microwave rice, a lot less hassle

Cool it as quickly as possible (running under cold water will obv do this) then put in fridge. Not a great idea to eat it beyond the day after.

You can get uncle bens wholegrain par boiled rice which only takes 10 mins to do which is decent.

Comes in 500g boxes, or you can get the packets which come with a little added oil, that take a few min or so in a pot or microwave.

But I like to make servings with 50-60g carb, the packets are like 76g carb, nice tho.

If you love something let it go,if it comes back to you it's yours,if it doesn't it never was.

Room temperature is the enemy of rice. Avoid keeping it at room temperature for any length of time. Drop your rice into a basin of cold water, perhaps with some ice cubes if you have any. Then place in the fridge.

Running it undr cold water is best, it stops the cooking process, so it will be at the consistency you wish.

Rice is fine for a while, if stored in the fridge, no need to panic after a day.
