I like them both a lot, so hard to chose. But yeah Elvis. He's just way cooler as well.

    Talent wise, probably Jacko

However, in a fight I think Elvis would have the edge.

Elvis. I reallly think MJ was over rated. I've seen some of his live performances onv  ideo and they looked crap. He seemed to mime most songs and when he actually sang it was crap and I think his dancing is pretty boring. I find it funny how people slag dannii minogue for miming sometimes yet she is great live.

However if i was to say who it would be overall. Freddie Mercury. No contest, Greatest singer showman and songwriter.

I think Micheal Jackson was a great singer, songwriter and performer. Of course, this all subjective and a matter of opinion. Personally; Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad were exceptional albums. Thriller selling over 100 million albums (if correct, but I am pretty sure 110 is the figure according to many sources) shows his massive popularity music wise. Off The Wall and Bad didn't do too bad either!

I have never really listened to much of Elvis, but I can't see how you can compare the two, its all a matter of musical taste and opinion, so what do you base it off? Album sales? Status? Fan base? Talent (how do measure it)?

Elvis was the bigger star IMO

I guess people here are saying MJ because they saw him live, liked his music as a kid, or whatever reason relating to the fact that he was a star in their own time

Trying to be objective though, I don't think there's any contest. Elvis sold more records, was a star of the big screen too, had a bigger influence on pop culture and certainly on music, had no fall from grace or decline in popularity, etc

Personally, I don't like either of them. Pair of weirdos if you ask me lol

you say jacko declined in poipularity, the demand for his million tickets was massive, people say he only came popular again in death and it's just not true. The O2 tour proved that.

Of course MJ declined in popularity. Not being funny, but were you not around in the 80s? The difference between then and now is so obvious that I'm not sure why you even said that

Anyway, record sales show MJs decline in popularity. Compare that to Elvis who was selling big and performing big right up until his death

Remember that we're comparing two extremely famous artists here, I don't see the point in being all impressed that one of them could fill an O2 arena. That would be impressive for some unknown schmuck, not one of these guys. A decline in popularity still leaves MJ as extremely popular. Just not as popular has he once was. Elvis went out on a high, MJ did not

But yeah anyway, can't say I'm personally a fan of either
