I agree a very small caloric surplus is the way forward. Just very hard to manage unless you are measuring food.

Well...rightly or wrongly, I've weighed all my food for about 12 months, otherwise it's left to chance. Don't you then?

Checked the photos from the UKBFF Ultimate First Timers on July 28... don't think I would have looked too far out of place. Plus, at 42, I may even have pushed the winner of the Masters class. Possibly...
Still, I'll go along and have a look at the PCA London on September 30. Until I know, I'll work towards the 2019 version being on the same day. That means building 10lbs of muscle in 10 months, starting a 16-week contest prep on May 30 2019.

Beginners and overs are always hit and miss.... overs especially seems to run a few guys who don't get close condition wise so that alone will knock you up the rankings potentially. Not many in the novices etc nail mass and condition and condition will trump messy mass every day and you now know you can do the condition part of it

When I was dieting sure. I stopped for a long while after and just ate according to diet plan though. TBH I continued like this at the beginning of my halo cycle. As I tried to tighten the weekly weight gain I found some weeks I was hitting a deficit. I'm back to weighing everything now though and it's a much tighter margin of error.

Awesome work mate and condition is looking extremely good.

I don't personally think there is 10lb still to come off based on the pics you have.

Rows are my favourite exercise. Flys I've been going lighter for more reps and pinpoint form; big stretch etc.

Always manage to sleep OK after a late session. Sometimes it's necessary while the kids are on summer hols; training etc has to take a back seat.

Thanks for looking at these. I wanted to get your thoughts because you've been on stage recently and have a feel for what condition/size others are bringing.
I always tell people that, from those pics, I could have done with losing another 10lbs for the stage, just to sharpen up.
As for going forward; now need to add 10lbs of muscle over the next 10 months. Thinking that 2019 PCA London might be around end of September. A 16-week prep means dieting should begin May 30 2019. We'll see.

Well, I've had to reinstate 20mg of prozac per day. I had weaned from 60mg to 40mg to 20mg to nothing over the space of a good few months. But despite coming off diet, eating more, not being so strict with cardio etc, my personality has been all over the place. 20mg prozac has stabilised things a little.
