Mike Sheridan at the olympia

Mike Sheridan the ifbb pro sponsored by cnp is going to be competing in the olympia this year as far as ive heard.

How does everyone think he'll compare to the big names up there?

i think hes got an awesome physique. i only wonder how he'll look in terms of height standing up there with jay ronnie and gunter.

one more thing - when is the olympia, and is there any way of watching it over internet or anything?

if you're going through hell. keep going.

If mike can come in looking shredded and v hard then i think he can do quite well. To be fair hes not going to be in the top 6, that basically goes without saying. But i think if he can get condition nailed and has made some improvements throughout the year then he should start trying to challenge guys like kris dim and lee priest etc. I actually think he looks better than some of the taller guys aswell. It depends how many are entering olympia this year. If its 15 competitors then if mike can be on the money then he should break up to 10th place.

I will be interested to see how he does and obviously hope he does well. I think he can continue to improve though, he has good mass and now has much improved aesthetics. If he can have his waist and stomach looking real tight then he could do fairly well.

As for competing against the big names, he isnt gonna beat ronnie, jay, dexter, chris, gustavo, gunter, darrem, dennis. Vic martinez always gets shafted at these events since his criminal conviction episode so its impossible to say with him. Mike looks good and i hope he does well.

I wish him the best of luck, but as you said height can be a big advantage when it comes to appeal...

He wont do very well imo. Especially since his gut is out of control and if the new rules are enforced then that wont do him any favours. He's just way too blocky to do real damage. Lee Preist is similar to him but with a far better natural structure and lines.

id really like to see some better judging this year.

last years new challenge round was brilliant idea, i got all the pics of it too. but it annoyed me that there was still silly judging. ronnie coleman does not have a better abs and thighs pose than dexter jackson.

id like to see troy alves do well, so long as he comes in looking as big as he can, because as we know hes got great proportions.
victor martinez should go far, but wont.

Sheridan in peak condition could do very well i think. i havent seen any shots of him from the back though so i cant comment on hams really.

if you're going through hell. keep going.

Trust me Sheridan wont do sh*t at the Olympia. He placed 4th in the Russian Pro show which had next to no big names besides Ronnie and Fedrov. The Olympia is on a completely new level. He's new in the mix of top pros and hes British. He wont place well imo.

Dark knight, he did used to have a terrible gut problem but at the grand prix last year it looked considerably diminished. He looked v impressive and his quad sweep was great.

I think if he can pack on a bit of size on his arms, back and delts, try to even up the v taper slightly more aswell, because his midsection has tightened considerably in last 18 months (thats what it looked like at the gp anyway) then he can have that same lee priest look. He is simmilar to lee priest thats true and obviously priest is better but priest often ruins his contest prep lol. (Although hes been bang on the whole of last year and looking quality).

I think if mike gets in top condition then i dont see why he cant challenge guys like kris dim, he holds more mass and a more dense thicker frame. If his gut is down and hes made further improvements to his back and arms then i think mike should place above those guys. But in the end mike is the new comer to the olympia, hes the least known guy on stage probably so of course he will be overlooked by the judges even if he does deserve a better place. But the important thing is that he continues to improve and keep managing to qualify for the mr olympia, in 2-3 years he could be overtaking guys like lee priest. Im not sure how old he is though.

As for mikes physique, i admit that when i saw him on stage in the 2003 gp i was not impressed at all, everyone commented that he carried some good mass for his height but had a bad gut problem. I didnt expect much from him at the 2004 gp BUT i was damn impressed. He looked like his contest prep paid off big time and looked so much better, im a fan of his now, i think at the brit gp last year he was looking real good.

Steff, sheridans back isnt too good, his waist is quite blocky despite him coming in tighter thats just his natural frame really, and as hes not a tall guy he cant get that proportioned flaring v taper as well as some of the other shorter guys, his hams from what i remember are good.

I like him, but he is outclassed (but not out-muscled) on an olympia stage.

I wish I was more attractive like Dagless.

Personally i dont think hell do very well, but in Russia in fairness he was up against Ferderovsroerreoire (you know who i mean), Coleman and Cutler, but then again their was no toher real competition in that line up he get whipped in the Olympia. He just doesnt look right, he looks like the sort of person who has just sqeesed as many aas cycles into himself as possible to get his size.

not at all, i have alot of respect for him, but it will be his first olympia, and not often does a first timer make a huge impact on their debut show, i imagine maybe a few years later hell be a completely different package to the show., a better one of course.

no Steff the new challenge round sucks!!

it becomes a competition of body parts which is not what bodybuilding is all about

anybody know if they will use the challenge round again? please say no

Mike Sheriden - great bodybuilder, nice size, but wide waist, conditioning could be better.

will he make the top 10 ? doubt it
