Muscle Memory?

I just broke my ankle playing rugby and I will be out of the gym for the next 2-3 months or so. I am only training for strength and power. Will 'muscle memory' help me regain my lifts quicker(and how quick?) than it took originally or it only helps with muscle size?

    Yes but...

The strength can come back quickly but the slower healing and replacing connective tissue might be the weak link. I'd look at all the possible means of speeding up the healing process.

Yes mate, after my layoff a few years back the strength gain was phenomenal - even more so than the size gain. I was back to my former state in a suprisingly short time.

Actually if it's only 3 months that you're off, then you probably won't lose all that much size or strenght anyway.
