My 2015 SUC Transformation from Porky Powerlifter to Glamorous Gal (Hopefully!)

Hi All,

Most of you won't know me as I don't post here much, but thought I'd give the transformation a shot.

I've been lifting weights for a couple of years now, but moved to powerlifting from summer last year. I'm doing well - currently equalling the British record for squat and bench press for my weight category - but I've gotten chunky and my clothes don't fit. I'm competing at British Championships in March so I'm planning to cut slowly so as to minimise any loss of strength.

I'm 36, female, really short (4'8") but really heavy at the moment (for me) - 45kg. Want to get down to at least 42kg.

Good luck everyone!

Apologies for any side-boob in these pictures. My bikini doesn't fit well any more...

Another one doing it for the Powerlifting massive   Good luck to you.  I'm prepping for a comp in Feb aswell as doing this.  Not sure they go hand in hand but hey ho....it's a challenge.  What federation do you lift in?

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone.

I lift with BDFPA, so I train 100% natural - something I forgot to mention in my introduction.

I don't know if equalling the records is that impressive. There are very few women that compete in the <44kg category so the records aren't very high. I'd like to get a record, but I'm more focussed on my scoring. I would like to add at least 10kg to my total to be more on par with the better lifters in the fed.

Great to meet another powerlifter, Edbanger. Yes, it is a bit of a risk cutting before comp, but I reckon a slow, careful cut shouldn't be detrimental. I was wondering to myself recently that if I can squat a weight while weighing 45kg, does that mean that if I cut to 42kg then technically I could add 3kg to the weight I lifted and it still feel the same effort? Does that make sense? Is there any truth to that?! If there is, then not only will I lift more, but I'll score more at a lower bodyweight.

Good luck to you all. I'll be interested to see how you all get on.

I read on twitter about a lady who competes with GBPF, and actually did a keto diet and surprisingly, lost no strength at all! In fact, she might've even gained some. She lost about 3kgs I think altogether

Morning: Didn't make it to gym thanks to a bad night's sleep.

Evening: Bench press - worked up to 45kgx3 then dropped to 40kg and did volume work, followed by pull ups and pike presses.
