Morning, lads. This is defo the ****test company that I have ever worked for. They have chopped my day down and expect me to sit around the other side of town for 5 hours then do 1 job and drive home in rush hour. All done without telling me. Therefore, I am going to the office at 1130 and will debate with them, face to face, again.

Been riding the bike around and feeling fitter. Only problem is my calls are on the hilly side of town and I'm having to push the bike up some of the steeper ones. This is not doing my ego much good!

Barbell Bench Press 80k x 2, 90k x 2, 100k x 6, 100k x 4
Viking Press 20k each side x 10, 30k x 7, 30k x 7

And that was that. Went and got a few jobs done at my flat, in the gap between morning and afternoon jobs. I visited the office and they all blamed each other. I said I'd do the lone job, this afternoon but set out my stall, again. The office was full of interviewees. I may be judging a book by its cover but a lot of them look like they wouldn't make very Good carers. Mind u, a lot of the established staff are ****in useless.

Used one of the cheapo bars for bench press and it was quite unstable. I was pushed for time so didn't strip it down and get a good bar. Foolishly went for a second working set and only got 4. That wound me up so I charged over to the Viking Press and got a rep more than last week on each working set. Lungs still feel tired from all the biking, but it's nice to feel em worked again.

WTF that is pretty sh1t.

Some companies are just fvcked mate. I've had no end of trouble trying to order some stuff from eastern states. From the seller, through to the courier. Just fvcktards.

Hope it gets sorted mate.

I dread to think how many people they've got on their books. Instead of focusing on their decent staff, they deal with any disputes by cutting hours, sending you to the calls where u aren't welcome and generally being **** in dealing with any enquiries or issues u may have with clients or your work in general.

I still haven't signed the contract. I'm creating a care based cv which highlights my ten days of experience and my utterly ****e training.

On the plus side, if they are that bad chances are that any new places you apply at have probably heard about them.

Tried some T-bar rows but the set up was crap so ****ed them off.

Corner Rows with Axle 40k x 12, 45k x 10, 50k x 8, 50k x 8

Straight Arm Pulldowns 45k x three sets. Pulley system awful so can't really annotate reps to the journal.

EZ Bar Curls 10k each side x 12, 15k x 9, x 4
Stretching

Was pissed off with doing a couple of work sets on the ****e T-bar and that seemed to motivate me to do better than previously on the rows.

Work has improved a bit, remains to be seen how long the improvement lasts for. Mrs doing my nut in and has accused me of having an affair, after receiving a text from an unknown number. She knows my views on cheating: never have, never would. I'm now wondering if she's sent the message to herself. ****in fun and games.

Barbell Bench Press 80k x 2, 90k x 2, 100k x 2, 100k x 3
Seated Dumbbell Press 22.5k bells for 2 sets of ten

****in ****e. Gonna have to change something, workout wise as this is second ****e press session in a row. More volume? Drop the weights down? Is it the extra cardio? Am eating well, and accounting for the additional caloric expenditure used on cycling. Something inside me is whispering that I need to have a real good drink and a laugh. I've not seen much of my mates recently and I think I'm holding onto some tension. Whatever it is, it can **** off

Restart and rebuild.... If you've maxed out and aren't getting anything out session by session then you need to take a few steps back and begin another run up at it all. Change exercises up, or change format but if you are pushing to failure each week and now falling back then you simply aren't recovering. Could be diet, could be training, could be both

I think I'll change the training. Different exercises and maybe be a bit more precise with goals for the session and/or training cycle.

I think I may try shorter training cycles, maybe even just a month at a time. Switch exercises for a month then go back. The fog of doom has also descended, approx 3pm, yesterday. That will also be a factor in the **** session. It is defo a factor in me having a pop at the missus, last night. The past few weeks have been made up of her constantly wanting me to reassure her that she is the one I love. I told her, yesterday, that I was feeling a bit low, as I've done loads in the past and within a minute it got pulled round (by her) into it must be her contributing to my drop in mood. She's then had a meltdown and began demanding my support.

She's a brilliant girl, and the good outweighs the bad. However, she's very insecure and it seems to be getting worse with age; not just with me but with her mum and sisters, work and pretty much everything else she comes into contact with. She's staying at my flat, tomorrow night and I can predict exactly how the evening will go. 1/ Will ask how I am, I'll prob say a bit low 2/ She says we will have a lovely night 3/ I cook dinner 4/ She glugs down a load of wine 5/ Despite me telling her millions of times that when I am low, I need a bit of space, she will be on the constant hunt for hugs and kisses 6/ After stating, for the 20th time, that I don't really feel like being luvey duvey, she will start sulking 7/ She will get a massive glass of wine, glug it down then go to bed 8/ I'll try and get into bed without waking her. 9/ She will wake and then try her luck again 10 (a)/ If I am sober, I'll advise that I'm not feeling like it and she will pass out 10 (b)/ If drunk, I'll state how ignorant she is and probably vent at her for a bit until one of us passes out

Some people just need touch to reassure them mate. Others just need you to be with them. Just different styles mate. She should respect your space but at the same time it doesn't hurt to give a cuddle when watching a movie or something. I'm assuming you have told her how you feel. What about a compromise? I'll have two hours to myself and then we can watch a film together and cuddle.

You could always give her a shag and get it over with lol.

I'll wish out plenty of cuddles, pal. However, she will want the whole evening linked together. She is a goer in the bedroom and our sex life is very good but when I feel like this, my libido drops away. Anyway, we will see what happens tomorrow.

Insecurity is always difficult mate she's obviously been cheated on in the past and now your finding your feet and working in the caring profession she probably imaging your surrounded by gorgeous nurses etc.And if your libido is a bit off she will automatically jump to the wrong conclusions.

Reassurance is the only thing you can do but if she's up a height it will fall on deaf ears maybe a good heart to heart would help she obviously cares a hell of a lot about you tbh.

But if she's effecting your bench press kick her to the curb ( only joking LMAO)

As for bench going to hell I would personally drop the weight get the reps with perfect form and increase from there no shame in dropping back whatsoever look at my journo its not about the weight... but how you move it

Trust me I am moving sh1te but gaining big style

Well, Friday night went better than planned. She did glug a load of wine but then passed out at 10 🙌🙌🙌 Had nice day with her on Saturday, until I had to work in the evening. I'm ringing the Care Quality Commission, later to get some guidance on who I submit a concern to. There is an old boy who keeps being given very strong blood pressure meds at the wrong time of day, by carers. I think I've mentioned it before and I have spoken to my employers; but they didn't seem to give a ****. I cant leave it at that so will speak with the commission and go from there

Changed things up

Flat Dumbbell Press 30k's x 10, 32.5k x 8
Bodyweight Dips x 12, x 8
Bodyweight Chins 3 sets of 3
Lying Dumbbell Hamstring Curls with 10k 2 sets of 10
Standing Calf Press 40k x 2 sets to failure
EZ Bar Curls 15k each side for two sets of 5

I also did static lunges (bodyweight) of 10 reps each leg between the dips and the chins. A total of 40 reps each side.

Best training session for ages. The stress of chasing numbers was gone and i felt more engaged with the target muscles. I should really train like this all the while but no doubt I'll watch too many Instagram videos and want to go heavy again in the near future. Must remind myself to acknowledge that I'm a **** and not do it.

It's just about having something structured for each phase.... a plan to follow with goals to go along the way. You can go heavy again, but do so with a plan for a specific time period, then swing it back around again.

Going to the gym training blind and training hard is all well and good, but if you want to progress then following some kind of progressive plan is by far the most productive way to go

You're right. In all my years of training, I haven't really followed a set plan. Knowing that I don't do well on long training cycles, I should shoot for, say 4 weeks with a realistic goal in mind and then have a week or two where I back off a bit. It's laziness on my part and probably a bit of uncertainty about what goals to set.
