My Testosterone Results-lab test

Had my yearly physical last month and got results today -

Chemistry - All normal range
(K,CL,CO2,GLUCOSE, BUN, VREA, CA, TP),,only know what a few of these mean

Chemistry Endocrinology
Testosterone Total Serum ng/dl acceptable (175-781) mine was 285..so it on the low side on HRT !!
I've been on 200mg test prop (every 10 days) for over a year now. I would of thought this would get my levels
to mid point or better TBH..

thats quite strange, i have seen people on 150mg per week who hit over 1000ng/dl, did u get estrogen done as well? even still 285 is so low for the amount ur taking in

Don't believe I had estrogen check done. I have had lab work done periodically. after first two months it was a 327...couple months later 527...and I felt dandy with this ! Now back down to this...is strange.. but within acceptable ranges

OOHH -Forget to mention - friend of mine been on gear 400test weekly and 50mgdbol daily for 6 weeks..back was killing him. He had bloodwork and test level was 2400 !!! Yet he is less aggressive i gym than me...

I've been on 200mg test prop (every 10 days) for over a year now. I would of thought this would get my levels to mid point or better

Not surprised your test levels were towards the lower end of the reference range. Not sure who adviced you to take HRT like that but not something I would recommend to a patient. The peaks and troughs you would get are enormous.

Just look at the pharmacokinetics of this:

Test prop has half life of between 1 to 2 days.

For arguments sake lets take 2 days.

    So you inject 200mg
    After 2 days: 100mg
    After 4 days: 50mg
    After 6 days: 25mg
    After 8 days: 12.5mg
    After 10 days: 6.25mg

So when you come to inject again on day 10 you have about 3% of the first injection left in the body. With taking it for a year there will be a cumulative effect from previous injections but not much at all. Not conducive to stable levels at all.

Sorry Doctor - I meant TEST CYPIONATE - NOT PROP
Suppose half life of 10 days. So this be better for consistent levels.

One more question why you are here...I was told that the 285ng/dl only represented my "natural' levels
and would not detect the synthetic (not from a doctor) ...is this right? or does # catch all test in my body? If my natural is 285, which is in low range, but considering I'm on HRT that would be a good sign wouldn't it...? I wonder if I stopped HRT would it rebound even further..to say 500ng/dl ? What are your thoughts ?
Before HRT I have a free serum level of 8.1 and a total of 280 (only the free level was out of acceptable range)
I started on Test gel, but had a skin reaction after 2 months on....hence the change to injectable.

285ng/dl does NOT represent natural levels, it represents total testosterone levels (bound and unbound) which includes any endogenous testosterone. Test cyp once the cypionate ester is removed by enzymes in the body is indistinguishable as testosterone from your "natural" testosterone.
