My personal deadlift hell!

has anyone got a video of the correct form from the side cos the stupid fitness instrcter recons i am leaning too far back on lock out ricking injury etc . I told her she was preacing to the quior(sp?) also if i do a set of 8 as a warm up i always put the bar back down and and get back down i also hold the lift at the top for a few secs. Am i right i do what i think i have seen plifters do in videos yknow it's monkey see monkey do and nobody i know as a reliable source dead lifts

    Tahnks its a start I would do light wieghts similar to that but i would hold it at the top for a few secs i have looked at the video of ronnie repping away im sure my form is similar to his i.e the lockout

    Sorry Bengdogg I agree with the instructor. You shouldn't lean back at the top of the movement as it will compress the spine.

    Technique for deadlifts is a bitch, especially as there are two distinct styles ('conventional' and 'sumo'), both of which are viable means of shifting ridiculous amounts of weight, so people who use one technique will have trouble if they employ the advice of people who use the other...
    Re: Leaning back at the top of the rep. I dunno if you can injure yourself doing it, but as it seems somewhat pointless (once the weight's up, it's up) so there's not much point in risking it.

    By lean back i mean lock out not leaning well back sorry. The instructors were saying to come up just before lockout

    like in this pic this is what they considered lean back i consider it lock out

    i would say thats a lockout as well. doesnt look excessive lean to me
