I boguht an unflavoured vegan blend recently but it has some random black bits in it that either looks like smashed up bits of veg or bugs or something, any guys can confirm or deny the same thing?

Thanks

What brand was it? Perhaps a rep on here can help if so?

Contact the supplier, it will be more efficient than posting the issue here

    Yes contact your source.
Although bugs can have a certain nutritious value.

Myprotein, first time trying this vegan blend It is unflavoured so it is mainly a pale brown colour with black bits every so often, so not even evenly spread out in the powder. I sometimes contact them but we all know their customer service has gone to pot in recent years.

Just sent them an email, lets wait for their reply.

    Mini review
    --------------

This is a very dense powder, but very fine and dusty, it will get all over the place a lot more than whey powder, which is a lot lighter and more fluffy . It requires a lot more liquid than whey for the same consistancy, I'm guessing twice as much water minimum.

Black bits inside, looks like crushed bugs/infestation, or some kind of contamination. Have emailed them to enquire. Maybe it is natural, but I don't see how as it is a pale greenish/brown powder. Seems gone for now, was mostly on the top layer of my bag.

And for anyone wondering what it tastes like, it is very very bad. I am used to unflavoured whey so thought I could handle it, but this is on another level of taste. Wet cardboard and mouldy peas, quite gritty and sometimes makes me gag. I really don't know how the flavoured versions would hide the taste, it is very strong and the odor is also noticeable. I will finish the bag but unfortunately will not buy it again, it's just very unpalatable, even for me.

Actually, I recieved a really quick reply, the problem is trying to get a good picture. It might just be normal, but I am not sure.

    Will update on the outcome

Very quick customer service from Myprotein, they said it is likely the hemp that is not properly blended in in this certain batch, they have given me a refund as a goodwill gesture. I really hope that is what it is, they mantain the production is clean. If so, very good customer service, cannot fault. Just waiting for that refund to come in.

Either way, not really sure I will be buying this product again, maybe look for another no dairy powder to try out.

Picture of what I am talking about is here, it does look quite unpleasant and quite different in colour to the powder
