MyProtein - Are they starting to scam?

Just had a really bad experience with MyProtein, I have been a loyal customer with them for years, spending £100s a month. So yesterday I had an order with 3 items missing, I phoned customer services to report it and they almost implied I was lying! It wasn't even expensive items, just 3 bags of oats.
Apparently they have to carry out a full investigation with their depot, because obviously you can’t just trust a loyal customer and send £24 worth of missing stuff without going FBI on it.
Where do I stand with this, I paid on credit card and as far as I can see if you pay for something that doesn’t get sent that constitutes credit card fraud.

Just posting for people to be really careful of MyProtein, although they have always been very efficient and cost effective in the past, the one and only time I have had a problem, customer services was the most appalling experience.

I think it's normal if you phone with such an problem that they will investigate the issue ie: who picked your items, was it signed for when packaging...did you get a delivery note with the items you ordered?

Re the person on the phone implying you were lying, well I can't answer for him but hopefully this will be sorted asap. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

this is why i love their competitors who will realise the value of keeping said oats vs the loss of losing a loyal high spending customer...

usually this is often sorted in a quick phone call and a replacement sent out on next day delivery and a shaker as an apology

Probably just company policy, I doubt they think your lying it's just a process they need to go through.

I had something similar happen to me, the delivery driver say he left my delivery at my back door - I was a block of flats with no back door. It got sorted out in the end, it's the courier to blame usual

My wife signed for the package, it had not been tampered with, the items were just not there. Its not so much the fact that they have to investigate, it was the tone of the guy on the phone pretty much telling me it was in the box at the time released from the depot and implicating some sort of deceit on my part.

And yeah Aaron I just checked my past orders and I've spent £874 in the last 10 months with MyProtein and they can't just promise to send me the £24 worth of oats on trust. Bad customer services can honestly loose a company £1000s when it impacts on loyal repeat customers that is so very true, and I have to admit I was fuming.

I've not been on the board for ages coz of work commitments anyway, but congrats on your 2nd at the UKBFF finals, saw it in 'the beef' you looking to hit the U90Kgs again this year mate?

I've not heard any -ve press on them for a while now in fairness but it was just this sort of customer care issues that saw me take my business elsewhere unfortunately. When they are good they are great (but then they all are) but when things went a bit wrong things were dire (which was 3 times too many for me personally), hopefully this is a one off and will get quickly resolved for you

Any warehouse will need to investigate before despatching a replacement. It's not to say that the customer is not believed but there is a process that needs to be followed and without it, they would end up despatching god knows how much free stock if they just took every customer's word for it.

And though she be but little, she is fierce..

I did actually have a similar incident but it was a couple of years ago now.

I bought some protein from MP, when it arrived it was all over the box and the bag had a slit in it like someone had cut it with a razor blade. Im guessing someone cut something with the empty bag underneath then filled it with whey or something like that, I dont really know.

I contacted MP they wanted to see evidence. I  took pics of the slit across the bag of whey and pics of the whey all over the place (why would I pour my whey all over the box? ) I sent them off and never heard from them again. I contacted them they didn't reply at all. I think they thought I was trying to pull a fast one.

I didnt use them for a year after that.

I'm surprised you used them at all after that.

I'd not shopped with them for a while but was offered some of their protein puffs for review a while back - never turned up...

yeah mate as I say it was a couple of years ago I was fuming and wouldn't touch them, ive not a issue since but I spose that's the point really how they act when you do have an issue?

I understand they have to check things out , people do try stuff I can imagine but CS has been MPs 1 problem area in a otherwise fantastic company.

And Whitesnakes on board now that's a good start in the right direction.

I hope the OP gets a resolution

Thet will have to investigate it, otherwise they will never be able to find out where the missing bits went to and why they are not in your cupboards. If someone nicked your oats they need to find out who it was.

Hopefully myprotein will get it sorted swiftly and you've got whitesnake to keep an eye on things.

All the best

I had the same issue with them, but not as bad.  There was a slit across the bag, but luckily only a little had fallen out.  Looked like a cut from a packing knife.  I taped the bag back up.

Had the same problem a while ago, ordered whey and oats and only the whey showed up! Contacted customer services and they basically insisted that the oats were in the box when it left the warehouse.

Kind of got fed up pursuing it as it wasn't going anywhere, its not so much the cost of the supps its the principle, you want to receive something you pay for right?

Anyway, been with bulk powders ever since and haven't looked back. I'm a regular customer and if I have any problems they have it sorted out very, very quickly.
