If I ever go the home gym again I will follow suit and use scaffold too. It looks great!

Thanks mate, the boat rope is the toughest.  My thumbs give up first which forces me to switch to the eagle loops.  I do like to focus on grip with chin ups and something that can rotate a little.  If I use a bar I end up with sore elbows.

I'm after some cannonball grips but they're a bit pricey for what they are.

Thanks guys, the rope was a cheap as chips ebay purchase a few years ago.  There's a lot of choice, I wanted something that was thick enough that I can't get my hand closed.  This 1m length cost about a fiver. It works your thumbs like nothing else but is a great overall man maker.   My reason for getting this in the first place was to replicate rope climbing but I actually think this might be better.

95kg x 5 reps -- Form degraded considerably as the set went on.  I had to paused longer than I would have liked between rep 4 and 5.  Rep 5 was an ugly beast of a lift.  Its fair to say this was right the limit.  These do need to be cleaner but overall I'm happy that I managed to fight through this set.

B2 Squat

I'm considering setting my alarm 15 minutes earlier so I can get out earlier and get more work in.  That will mean a 4:45 am  start, not sure I'm up for that.

Thanks man, they are.  I put the bar at my weakest point (or thereabouts) and the neutral position forces me to stabilise in a different way.

I haven't done it yet mate but could well be on the cards.  It's only 15 minutes earlier but mentally its a bit step having two 4 o'clocks in one day.

Strength isn't the issue mate, it's the conditioning.  Strength seems to hang around for a bit but cardio disappears fast.  I'm sure you know this all too well from your boxing.

Oh yes mate, well sort of.  I thought mine was 35kg and so always recorded it as such.  At some point later I weighed it and discovered it's actually 41kg (since it is the heavy duty version).  However, since it would make comparisons skewed I always just record it as 35kg.  It makes little difference in end since its all relative.  If I put more weight on the bar it's heavier.  The specific number is almost irrelevant, it just needs to increase over time.

I've been looking at boat rope on ebay and I'm struggling to find a 60mm thick one at 1m long. Plenty of them at 5m lengths though. I'll keep looking but I may just buy the 5m one, cut it up and sell the rest if I have to.

Do you post on Sugden at all now mate?

There's a joke in there somewhere about money for old rope.  Don't worry too much about it being 60mm, I've seen some 50mm and that would do the job.  It's going to be brutal to start with what ever.  Be prepared for sore hands unless you already have tough manly hands.  As an officer worker I had soft hands that were unused to that sort of punishment.

I stopped posting on Sugden since it's pretty dead over there.  Also youtube video stopped working which detracts considerably from why I log in the first place.

I took a rest day today.  The reason being I restarted KM last night after the Christmas break and it was brutal.  I'm in the "masters" class now and it's a lot more intense.  It was only an hour but it was an hour of sparring with push ups during the "rest" periods.  there perhaps 15 seconds of true rest between rounds.  I've got some nice bruises as a memento.  When my alarm went off this morning I knew I needed the extra rest.  It will likely take me a few weeks to adjust as I build the required work capacity.  The really good news is that I was able to fight the entire time and only in the last 20 seconds of the lesson did I think I was in trouble.  Don't get me wrong, it was brutally hard and I was sucking wind like mad but I got through it better than most.

Will you prioritise KM over weights or vice versa or aim to find a balance? Sounds smart taking rest if needed
