Those paused deads looked cake easy and very smooth. Still think the most impressive thing is dragging yourself out of bed at ars*hole o'clock to train!

Cheers mate, another one lol.  I love my alone time in the morning, I'm an introvert so I build energy and get my thought in order during times like that.

Nice work mate. Great idea with the bands. Why do you think you’re slipping? Condensation?

I find dead Bench Has much better carryover if you take away that initial eccentric. Being able to get into that tight position and press without first priming the lift. Just means you have to wiggle under the bar first!

Was going to say use band on your bench to stop slipping...I always use them on a heavy bench. Nice bench work bud, its building well.

Cheers mate, I think it was just the t-shirt, no traction as I pushed my upper back into the bench.  I've seen the band idea online and it worked a treat.

It's another tool in the toolbox.  I have a short term goal of 140kg x 5 using my current style.  Once I hit (or if I stall out) I'll look to use stuff like this.  It does have appeal as it more specific for my needs.

TBH I think I've been missing a trick, the grip was so much better than what I'm used to it made the actual press much easier.  I'm actually starting to feel my tri's working now.  Animal made an interesting point above and it's very likely I'll use it.

Proper grip work is always fun, especially the strongman type holds, really challenges you mentally as well as physically. You have to really psych yourself up for a relatively simple but difficult lift. Nice work dude.

I've tweaked something in my left foot and it's difficult to put pressure through the ball of my foot.  It's likely just bruising but not worth chancing it sop sacked off squats today.  Instead I decided to have a relatively low intensity session and just have a bit of fun really.

Sandbag Lift
75kg x ~8-10 reps
75kg x ~8-10 reps --I didn't count on either of these, just kept picking the bag up until speed dropped off.  The filing is very loose in this bag and had plenty of room to move.  Makings every rep a fight as it twists and shifts in your grip.  Nasty and fun all at the same time.

I do enjoy grip work.  My hands are like tiny rat claws but I've always been quite good at grip.  I kept the intensity low today so these a bit more in the tank if I was really gunning for it.  This set up is a bit funky,  The bar is lovely and smooth and feels great in the hand; no skin tears or bruising.  But to counter argue, it's lovely and smooth which means no natural gripping surface, it's all about hand pressure.

Nice addition with the sandbag lifts. Can imagine that was hard work after a few reps.

This bag has quite loose pack which make it very "active".  The sand slips and slides out of your grasp.  You have to dominate it or it won't go anywhere.  The "fight" drains your energy pretty quick, this is 3/4 body weight (ish).  Ideally I should be using body weight which would be a real fight.

Tuesday 19th March 2019
Day off work yesterday so I decided not to get up at 5 am but rather take a few more hours in bed.   I was punished for my weakness at KM where we were striking Thai pads with full force mixed in with multiple sets of push ups to failure. Shaking like a leaf after this and couldn't even get a single damn push up at the end (even from the knees) #broken.

Cheers mate. It's good to be repping something above my 1rm strict press. The bands pretty much give out right above my dead press sticking point and I really have to explode to get the bar up.

Thanks mate. 60kg will rest on the bars but it's pretty much there or thereabouts. The bands have tension for about half the ROM, I'd say about where my left fails on the 3rd. Not enough speed to keep the bar moving.
