Strong stuff.

I like the style of training, simple movements with max effect. Looking at getting some of those bands to use in a similar way when I am at work and away from the gym.

I also like that green jumper.

Cheers mate.  Experience has taught that you just can't beat basic barbell movements.  The bands are so useful and best of all they are so cheap these days.  I keep some in my car so I can use them whenever I want.  I find you can get a ton of volume in very quickly and they are very friendly on the joints.

Are you ex-forces? I take it you are from the avatar.  I'm not but I did enjoy shopping at the army surplus store when it was open.

Nice looking squat there. Very smooth looking

Thanks mate, I chucked in some extra mobility work both before I touched the bar and between sets, it made quite a bit of difference so I'll keep doing it.  Not really sure what bits are working and what bits are not needed so there is more experimentation to be done.

Nails!! Hello mate...what are you doing here lol?!

Good to see you here mate :)

Cheers mate, it's dead over at Sugden so I'm transitioning over to MT.  Seems like a good time to do it, just had the op I needed so it's a like a new beginning.

Welcome to MT Nails.

I love Sugden, but it's good to see you on here too.

Hope the op went well and recovery is going well.

Lol, he did indeed.  I'm posting it both at the moment but I'll eventually ditch sugden altogether.  The messed up youtube posts are actually the main reason I jumped.  I want to be able to post video's, first and foremost my log is for my benefit and removing video's really messes that up.   I'm actually writing something to harvest my sugden log so I can keep it and an archive (should I ever want to got and read it).

Thanks mate.  It seems there is a lot of duality between MT and Sugden.  I don't dislike Sugden but any stretch of the imagination but with the lack of youtube videos and most of the people I liked to follow jumping ship it is becoming increasingly hard to find a reason to post there.

I know a fair few of us post on both, but I stopped my journal on there ages ago for some reason.

Forums in general are much quieter these days though sadly.

Indeed, I'm not a big one for posting in the main forum but I do enjoy reading it.

I love your garage gym, thats how a garage gym should look! Not like the ****e you see on instagram. The yanks have huge garages or barns converted into 'home gyms' that have more equipment in it than some commercial gyms! Its not a garage gym if you aren't squeezing between tools, kids bikes, garden equipment and the cat litter tray to get to it.

Is your rack scaffolding btw? Looks like a great setup.

Thanks mate, it's certainly been a labour of love collecting all my kit over the years.  There is not electricity, which means no light (apart from my lamp) and no heat but I wouldn't have it any other way.  The scaffold rack was one of the first additions, even before Olympic bars and plates.  Back in the day it was standard bars and plates with railway sleepers as racks and even as a bench.  I bought the scaffold of some random who wandered over when I was training one day. It was £60 for 10 poles, each 21 foot and a massive sack of connectors. Bargain.  I just got one of my mates to cut it up, it's handy being mates with builders. It can be a bit of a pig to set things up correctly and it's not as quick to change set ups as with a regular rack but damn it's strong, in fact I think you'd have a tough time finding a stronger rack.  The only problem with it is height, I can't do overheads in the rack because the plates would hit the roof.  That's why I always press outside, great in the summer but not so pleased when there's a storm.

I didn't realise how much the infection in my sinus was affecting me, feels like I've had the brakes taken off. Fingers crossed that lasts a while.

I managed to take an elbow right in the face on Monday night, not exactly what I'm after right now recovering from surgery.  However, I knew what I was getting into and it's not exactly like it's a cake decorating class.  On the positive side, there doesn't appear to be any damage.

Dinnie Deadlift
I forget the warm ups but finished with a 290kg lift.  155kg in the front hand and 135kg in the back.  I've hit a bit of a snag, there is no more room left on the pins!  Therefore I either need to buy thinner plates or get creative.  Since its the run up to Christmas, that mean get creative as all my cash is accounted for.

Glad the hit to the face hasn't caused any issues mate!

Those dinnie deads are awesome...would love a go! Sounds like you'll need to hang some weight or something on!

I think it hurt the other guy more.  I shouldn't let myself lose control like I did my next strike...um...let me take a break for a few minutes.  I usually hold back as bit since it's training and I don't really want to hurt my training partner...he'll need a new groin guard before the next lesson as his has been smashed.  Not proud of myself but at the same time no-one tried it again.

Given a few weeks practice, you'd smash the real thing mate.  The only thing that would both you is the funny straddle and the rings.  The weight would be cake.
I only need 10kg on the back which should be easy but 35kg on the front.  I think that will take some playing with.

I got them from Killer Strength Scotland, they are made to order exact replicas of the real thing.  Great bit of kit, very well made.

Yeah, it will be just the lift.  I need to hold them for 2 seconds to count.  There's different levels but that's the one I want.
