Cheers guys, unfortunately Animal and Ox have come up with sensible ideas that will actually help me progress. Spoil sports. The Mrs is safe as I've taken my neck harness to work. I'll still do neck work but with bands instead.

Nice pressing mate!

Ta mate. Shame about the reps but it was good to take 100kg for a little ride.

100 moved very smoothly. Can see the left side lagging on those 90’s there, sure you will pull that back in no time

Cheers guys.  I'm happy with how the 100 moved.  Since I need to dial back the weight a bit for my rep work I'm considering adding a few more heavy singles, providing they go up smoothly.

Sabotaged by the 5 year old this morning so I ended up being Dad rather than deadlifting.  A small price to pay really.  Given how this week is going I've decided to go with the flow rather than try and damn the river.  Therefore I'll be deloading for the rest of the week.  This works out well as I don't deadlift during a deload. Also I don't thing I've had a deload since Christmas so it's probably overdue.

Quality work as always mate, pressing is ace as well that 100 moved easily. Neck drags, now that's an interesting one! Can see what you mean though about it being good for martial artists.

Enjoy your deload

5yr old wrecking your training LOL

So you've dropped the neck drag in favor of nods I once bought a head harness where you attach a plate to it went a bit heavy and nearly broke my neck .

He has a perforated ear drum and it get infected fairly often.  Right now it's infected and causes him pain. He's been on the waiting list to see a specialist for nearly 3 years now!

I do like heavy (within reason, 30 rep range which I think is heavy for the neck) neck nods.  The problem is my neck only gains front to back and ends up being very deep.  It's the front part of the neck I'd like to develop which is much harder to do with the harness and plates.  Bands though are a different story.  You can choke up a band to the harness and hold it behind your back and then nod forward.  Resistance is easy to adjust either by a different band or moving you hands up or down. It's also easy to do isometrics by using an anchor point.

If I bring up my neck muscles a touch and drop a little body fat I'll be rocking an awesome Neck-gina .

Ha, that will be my poor attention span.  Yeah dragon flags are a hard abs/core exercise, much harder than they look.  I'd say on a par with a full standing roll out.

I'm convinced now that 6-7 weekly deloads are the right way forward.

I think that sounds about right. Tbh I haven't had to plan for deloads in a while since I've always had life hurdles crop up. This is the best run I've had in ages.

3 years he's been suffering whilst waiting for a specialist that's fcukin ridiculous mate they should be shot with sh1t making a bairn suffer like that.I was once in ER this kid came in after hitting a kerb coming off his scooter he was in a right mess sitting there shaking blood all over his face they called my name out I went over to reception and said take him in in my place instead his dad was really grateful but I said mate honestly you shouldn't have to sit there with a distraught kid they should have taken him straight in.

Respect on the nods you'll soon have a neck like Tyson

It makes me angry thinking about it but not the wait itself but rather I've made a complaint and threaten legal action.  Now we are getting somewhere my point is it shouldn't take that.  It's not really their fault though, it's lack of funding that the big issue.

I'm gonna use a stronger band next time, that one was a nice warm up but I need something with a bit more bite.

Well 100kg was probably a bit heavy for a deload, 80kg would probably have been smarter.  I did one set and it was easy so thought might as well stick with it.  As fate would have it I ended up missing squats anyway so total fatigue was down anyway.
