Thanks mate, it was easy, if my lamp hadn't died I would have loaded a bit more on the bar but such is life.  I'm very explosive, lifts either tend to look easy or I miss.  There's very little middle ground.

Cheers lads.  There is certainly an element of mental toughness that is trained when its dark and cold.  Its far easier to stay in bed and do nothing.  Especially on days like this:

That dead press is looking strong mate...what is your 1rm in it and normal strict overhead at the moment?

Do you get many people come over to watch or have a chat about your training?

TBH mate, I've no idea.  Last time I tested it was 115kg.  Even though it's a strict press I find I get some drive from my torso which is why I use the dead press.  That way it's all shoulders and tri's. Although I have been using the dead press for a long time now so I could probably do with rotating it with something else.

Sometimes.  On the rare occasion when I'm training at social hours that's when people come over. But I'm usually out at about 6 am so I see a few of the regular dog walkers but that's about it.

Cheers mate, I'm feeling surprisingly worked for such a light weight.  Seems like it was agood choice, hitting me in s different way.  My upper back and hamstrings are killing me already ha.

I've noticed a few people here seem to prefer speed work over deficits. I, however, much prefer deficits myself, I'm a big fan of them, they definitely helped me crack the 200kg.

I tell you what mate, the way my upper back feels today, the deficits certainly did something.

My plan is to work with deficits for a few weeks, then overload with some reverse band work.  I'll keep switching back and forth.  This will allow me to use some lighter work but train my weak point (start strength) and allow be to overload my strength (lockout).  I will aim to go as heavy of possible when using the bands.  That's the plan anyway, if nothing else it should be interesting.

Very comfortable looking deads there and sensible working on the weakness rather then ego stroking

Cheers mate, I'm a bit like that, it either looks easy or goes no-where. No middle ground. Glad I went down this path, deads haven't felt so productive in a long time.

Deads looking solid mate, form dialled in...they will feel a bit weird for a while as you've been away from floor work for a bit...soon bounce back up.

They felt good tbh but I need more lats, always struggled with that. Upper back was destroyed, this tells me I could use something for thoracic extension.  The deads themselves should do they job but I may look at something else as assistance.
