Need Some Help with Routine....

I generally do 5x5 and try to go as heavy as possible with 1-2 isolation exercises thrown in at the end. I did pyramid system for a long time but am now doing the 5x5 and focusing more on the 'mass builders' as exercises...

my question is- what is the best way to combine muscle groups and what split would you recommend.

I have tried a few different ones, but am not sure which one to is best and what to stick to for a while

back/bicep

shoulder/tricep

ches/legs

I did that for a long time then switched to:

ches/bicep

shoulder/back

tricep/legs

can anyone give me some good advice on how to devide them and what to do?

thanks in advance

the first routine I originaly began years ago when I was a beginner and was new to the gym..

it was okay but had to be changed as eventualy I began noticing that my lifts were suffering for eg when I was doing back and biceps by the time I got to the ez bar curl and preacher curl I didnt have to strength left to finish my sets at a good weight...especially the final exercises...

I need a complete new one- not specific exercises but some order and way of combining them

Lots of different splits work mate - find one that works for you. I've been doing well on

    3 day:

    legs/abs
    chest/triceps/shoulders
    back/biceps

    4 day:

    legs/abs
    chest/triceps
    shoulders/traps
    back/biceps

    now on 5 day:

    quads/hams
    chest/triceps
    abs/calves
    shoulders/traps
    back/biceps

... but a lot of people do bicps with chest, or have a separate arms day

just choose a basic one (like the 3 day split above), then adjust depending on lagging parts etc

    Raw dead Lift 320kg
    Raw bench 171kg
    Shirted bench 200kg
    Amateur cage fighter @ 95 - 105kg

thanks for the reply- I do a three day i.e. gp three times a week with a days rest in between each workout.

a problem I have with shoulder/tricep or chest/tricep is similar to the one I mentined with back/bicep

the tricep tends to get overworked as its being worked a lot with the chest and shoulder exercises and with 3-4 tricep exercises throw in all in the same hour-hour and a half I think that its too much

but people have told me that tricep should ONLY be done shoulder or chest...?? Any truth to that- anyone do it another way and get good results?

I was thinking of trying this routine

    back/shoulder

    bicep/tricep

    chest/leg

    any comments on that one?
