Need advice for my 56 yo dad to lose weight with a knackered knee

My dad's recently bought himself a multigym and is happy with the progress but he's now asking me about how to lose his belly but he can't run, walk very far or use a rower or exercise bike as his knees are knackered. He does manage 20 minutes twice a day to walk the dogs, and pumps himself full of iboprofen to get 1-2 rounds of golf in a week but he can hardly move afterwards.
What kind of rountine would you recomend for him to lose a bit of weight and improve overall fitness?

Cheers

Sorry I forgot to add, I recommended swimming, and he tried it in a hotel he stayed in the other week and said he could barely walk the day after. I find it hard to see how he  can play a full 18 holes of golf yet not swim pain free, must be the pain killers, but I don't want him dosing up on ibuprofen everyday for the rest of his life.

Aright, there are many things to try. First of all, tell him to start stretching after gold and workouts. This helps muscles stay flexible and stronger. If he wants, there are many types of anti-aging supplements that could help him feel better overall after he works out. Some ways to get rid of the belly fat include fat burners and the non diet pill way is to simply eat less food. Crunches may not be the answer as this might just push out the fat already there. Something that will get all of that fat off his belly include exercise in the water. It burns calories like crazy.
