Trawl throught eh recipes threads or do a search for recipies - as I recall Nikki was always posting up tasty bits and bobs.

IMO get the protein bar recipe they are lovely. and if you find em too dry add more honey or PB.

as for meals you cant beat rice (either packet or loose - whatever they have in oz) mix in some veg and a tin of tuna - add some salsa et voila.

Potatoes are cheap too so plenty of boilies and baked spuds. Mash is good too (just hold back on the marg)
It all depends what you mean by tight budjet.

I am on a tight food budget of around £150 (plus protein powder) So I buy chicken and turkey fillets in bulk and freeze em. If your in hotel esqu accomodation the you will have limited space so freeze dried food may well be more suitable. But you need good food sources for your proteins. Unfortunately you cant drink 2000cals of protein instead.

I stick to around 200gms of meat per meal (around 40 gs of protein) make up the rest in potatoes/pasta/rice with mixed veg.

    1 bag soya mince
    1 onion
    2 stock cubes

soak the mice in boiling water

    dice the onion

cook the onion in pan with a little water

    add the mince

    add the stock cubes

    bring to temp mixing

    and serve

this should cost you under a quid and you will get plenty of it from 1 bag of soya mince cheap and tasty

Simmer a can of tomatoes (worth hardly anything) down to a thick consistency. Add a can of tuna (in water or olive oil depending how many calories you want) - also cheap.

Once hot, pour over some cooked pasta.

Very tasty and very, very cheap.

Chicken breast, mixed veg (whatever you like) potatoes. chicken stock.

Pan cook the chicken till brown, make up the stock add to casserole dish with the veg and the potatoes (cubed) and cook at a medium heat for 1.5 hrs! (a slow process but if you make a load sand freeze it its worth it)

try to look for reduced chicken, turkey or other lean type meat at supermarket. Very useful when on a budget although the particular cuts may not be desiarable e.i chicken thighs, beggers can't be choosers literally.
