New Gladiators

Is it just me or is the new Gladiators RUBBISH?

Just seems sterile, devoid of excitement or personalities. And of course Ian Bloody Wright is presenting.

It does indeed seem to lack the 'gloss' that the old show had. Very disappointing.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought this. The gladiators seem to have no personalities, though that may come in as the series goes on.

too much like american gladiators rather than our own gladiators

plus half the excitement for me with the old gladiators was the music that accompanied the events, the duel musci and eliminator music were the best ones

    Bit of a no-win situation.

If they copied the original we would complain but do something new and people will say how much better the original was.

The old one went on for years and took a while to build up some steam as well. It swung more to the WWE pantomine side of things as well.

Only watched a bit of the first one. Nostalgia is always going to make me like the original more.

If she presented it sitting in my living room it would not be enough to even out Ian Wright. Maybe if she presented it with a gun and everytime he slips up she shoots him in the knee caps.

    I totally agree with this.

I think that the general opinion on Muscletalk about the new Gladiators after everyone had seen it last Sunday was that it was a big disappointment and it will be lucky to get another series.

I think saying that the new Gladiators have no personalities is a bit unfair as the Gladiators with big personalities we remember from the original; Wolf, Jet, Lightening, Warrior, Saracen, Cobra, Shadow (until he was kicked off) etc had years and in some cases 7/8 series to build up and develop characters and personalities.

The new Gladiators have had one show, so a couple of events maximum exposure, I hardly think comparisons can be made.

As for the presenters John Fasuna couldn’t present, and I was never a fan of Urika Johnson.

    Much prefer the new presenters.

The new show looks much more modern and updated which is a good thing.

The only complaint I had was that I thought some of the Gladiators were a little bit on the small side and the contenders were tiny.

Oh and giving us a spoiler of what happens at the end of tonight’s show was a bit stupid!

Overall though I thought it was good and will be watching again later, but maybe I’m pretty much on my own on that one? lol
