One things for sure though. Apples engineering for the new CPU in the iPhone is about 3 to 4 years ahead anything Android has, have to give them massive props for that.

As far as I'm aware apple haven't manufactured a chip in years.
They outsource. And I'll wait till I see a bench mark as I doubt that very much

any links?

looking for the bench mark stuff, but the video shows it better how much ahead of the curve Apple is. I remember reading about the bench mark and even the Android people on reddit where amazed at what they have got out of them.
Also you can use the excuse about screen resolutions as that has no realty time effects, and was already tested for the difference.

Here we go,
https://browser.geekbench.../cpu/search?q=iphone10
doubled the score of note 8 in single core and multi-core.
Note 8 is 2k single core, 6k multicore. A11 is a 6 core processor running at 2.064GHz, Note 8 at 1.90GHz with 8 cores.

I can hate them for plenty, but there engineering is way ahead.

What **** is it with this snit heap website you can't link in post Imgur images!

Something has changed. It no longer takes me to posts that emails notified me of or quotes properly.

There A11 is based of loosely off another chip, but all there engineering work is done in house.
Qualcomm have a monopoly and patents making it that they are the ONLY real SOC chip maker, and have throttled way back, but even with the ultra non release chip of theirs, its still massively behind.
Its the same reason Apple have teamed up with LG to build there own manufacturing lines for OLED screens ( not up and running yet, but maybe by next year), Samsung is shafting Apple for the screen in the X. THink for every phone its about $150 Sasmung are asking for.

Having a ballache with my edge atm, how TF do you save music from Google play music to the sd card and use the tune as a ringtone or an alarm notification etc. I had to youtube how to save an app to the sd card last night, things like this were seamless on iPhone, oh how I miss my 6plus 😑

I hate upgrading. I'm firmly in the 'keep using it until I absolutely have no choice' camp.

I don't even upgrade software on my iPhone 5 as every upgrade I've done in the past on various phones, PCs and tablets I've found it to be slower, clunkier and I have to relearn things. I've even had old laptops I've had to disable windows auto-update as the next patch results on complete blue screen death.

Brand new gaming PC built by me in 2015 and I still have Win 7 on it lol.

Only time I upgrade is 1) I want some new software/game that will not run on current system and there is no alternative, or 2) I've broken it.

I feel like that old guy still playing cassette tapes because upgrading will be too much trouble.

I'm old before my time lol.

Just had a text from EE about pre ordering an iphone 8, not that i have ever had an iphone but nevermind. I get a £5 discount for being a customer which takes the price to £57.99 a month plus 50 quid upfront for 2 years. Seriously do people pay this much a month just for a phone? I pay 20 i think sim only which is still extortionate in my view.

I'm the same. Bought an S7 (great phone, but the last top end phone I'll buy, just doesn't do anything significant over cheaper ones to justify it) and I'm simply only. Unlimited calls texts etc and 15GB per month. No contract.
With a discount I'm £15 per month.

Used to pay £100 a month for my tariffs. Thankfully I could offset it against the business.

Iv'e still got my Galaxy s5. I buy my phones outright, so I'm not tied in and pay £16 a month for 200 mins, Unlimited data and unlimited texts

I'm not upgrading until they stop making them out of glass.
