New Year Resolutions...

Personally I am not a big fan of New Year resolutions. Generally I feel that, say in August, you feel you might do X when the New Year comes is a bit daft when it most often better to just get on with it.

I can see the idea though, new year, fresh start. Although bear in mind:

"2015 won't change anything unless you do"

Which I think is quite a good comment.

I do like to sit and plan what I'd like to achieve in next 12 months though (and review that the following year) - maybe that's the same thing??????

What do you guys think about New Year resolutions and are you making any?

I mentioned mine a couple of weeks ago on a new thread but just to recap I'll be getting more focussed on my training this year. I have the first six months all planned and written out, including my goals and aims for improvement and will note them in my journal as I go along. Looking for some big gains hopefully.

Diet wise, from New Year's Day I am giving up crisps, chips and sausages. I will also be halving my sugar intake. I haven't used a protein shake for a few months so I will be starting those again at the end of the month.

There are other plans regarding family, work etc but I'll keep those aside for now.

Stop being so lazy! My phone is about to die and I can't be bothered to move to get the charger, I'm waiting for my wife to come back to get it for me - yes I'm that lazy.

Stop gambling, although not in massive amounts it all adds up.

I need to make sure my training is regular. I get too many distractions.

I like the idea but after a few month you just get on with life.

I have made a few in my head so far:

    1. Enter a natty BB show.
    2. Get in the best condition I have ever been in an book in for a professional photoshoot, just so I can say I have done it.
    3. Get a promotion at work
    4. Stop looking at what I haven't got and focus on the things I have got as I'm not doing so bad for myself.
    5. Spend more time with the missus, we are like passing ships all week with two children under two and busy careers.

Hopefully 2 & 3 go hand in hand.

Agreed mate after you have messy relationships, and kids it certainly isn't the same, at 28 I'm totally not bothered, at 21 though I'm sure I'd be thinking different.

I think once you live without it for a while you actually get used to it, and I just cannot be bothered with any girls or relationships at present, I wanna focus on me and my life, and my little girls, that's enough on my plate with work/gym on top.

I'm certainly happier being single but that is compared to my last relationship.

Who knows what the future may bring but I did say to a mate recently I can honestly see me staying single for life now, and I'm not one for sleeping about, tried it a few times and it's just not me, would rather stick some porn on, with no one to kick out the bed after.

If you love something let it go,if it comes back to you it's yours,if it doesn't it never was.

Still trying to quit smoking. I had quit for 3 years, but started again in June when I was in Cyprus. The problem is if i drink, I smoke. I don't usually drink but I do if I'm on holiday
