New patient app @ docs yesterday

Finally got round to having our new patient appointments at the doctors, went surprisingly well. The nurse didn't try to have a go at me for my BMI putting me in the overweight category; she agreed with me that even though my alcohol questionnaire indicated 'hazardous drinking' that I was in fact likely in the healthiest drinking bracket (that astounded me, I didn't even have to go into a rant and rave about the studies out there!); she was interested in how I had used my diet to sort out my AS (something my consultant wasn't!); and I got a nice BP result - 110/72 - which following 3 months solid munching 1.3lbs pork loin a day + cheese + oil + etc - was a nice backing up of the fats being bad for your heart myth = nonsense !

Was very relieving to speak to a nurse who wasn't completely blinkered by medical crap.

1 bad point - I'm now officially 182cm - a 1 cm drop since I was 20, and no longer 6'. Booooo!

what is meant by healthiest drinking bracket ?
Is that a point where you get the benifits of alcohol but dont tip into harmfull effects ?
Where is that line drawn (units per day/week)

BMI is ok, but you are clearly not overweight IMO, i think we would look ill walking around at our target BMI's.

The AS Tony, is that Aspergers ?

Would you be overweight on their BMI. I'm 6 foot 2 and 16 stone and I'm not?

Festar: You can't plead poverty with 2 cars. That's like a little Kenyan chap pleading poverty with 2 packets of uncle bens rice hidden under his bed.

The AS Tony, is that Aspergers ? Ankylosing Spondylitis - arthritic problem, mainly afffects spine

lol, how young were you when you started on the weights Dawn..??

BMI is 27.5 according to http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmi-m.htm- halfway into the fatty boom-boom zone. You're 28.8 - borderline obese....
