New to bodybulding and need advice please.

Hi to everyone !

New to this forum, I wanted to get some help/advice/tips.

I want to start bodybuilding, I am 38 years old so not sure if I am past it, didn't want to compete but just want to transform my total body.  There are so many supplements that its a minefield so don't even know where to start !

Was thinking of joining a local gym as working out at home will be difficult.

Does anyone think that I am too old for this now ? any recommendations on what supplements are best to take alongside my diet plan and workout.

Your help and guidance will definitely be appreciated.

Thanks

Never too old mate. Don't worry too much about all the different supplements. Just buy a good quality protein powder. Eat clean , make sure you get plenty of protein in every day.
Consistency is key. (My biggest problem.. Lol)
Get a good routine going and stick at it.
    Best of luck mate.

As above mate never too old....I'm also 38 and have only seriously been training the last year and have already made massive changes to my physique.

Get yourself a good routine and find a decent gym and get cracking.

    Good luck.

you've made the biggest step by deciding to train, so good work on that front.

as above, there's no such thing as 'too old', sure you'll maybe have creaks where a younger lifter won't, but you just need to adjust your training to your own needs.

Forget supplementing at the moment and focus on your diet & training and enjoy the newbie gains for the first 12 months. There are some really useful articles on this website aswell as the separate forums (the nutrition, training and over 40's forums will be the biggest benefit to you) to get your read on over the christmas break.

Also, toke made a very good suggestion with starting a journal - it's a good motivational tool and you can get some excellent feedback from the more experienced lifters that prowl the forum.
