New watch (cheap and cheerful)

I already have myself a couple of 'respectable' watches but am thinking of a new day to day watch (about the house, work and down the gym). I could replace the batteries in the ones I have but you know how it is sometime, you get bored of the same old thing and fancy a small treat.

I've been glancing about and to my suprise have found a couple of those Casio G Shock watches catching my eye. Now I know they aren't 'flash' but they have a nice chunky 'manly' (LOL) look to them but TBH I have no idea if they are any good. Reviews seem fairly respectable, what say you lot?

This sort of thing BTW

G shocks are great. I own a few decent watches but still find I wear my G shock most. Its super hard wearing and a generally cracking watch.

Been googling and forum browsing.... some of them look suprisingly nice and I'm already finding myself getting a bit geeky thinking "yeah, a black one, white one and a yellow one would be quite cool" LOL

I like quite a lot of them now. Just need to convince the Mrs of my NEED

The one in the pic in my OP can be got for £68. There are plenty of similar, chunky style (some digital, some analogue some a combi) around that price. Some have a daft list of features.

Yeah, for now I'll go with a good black. That one has a military kinda look to it with no other colouring. Maybe come xmas when people want ideas I can throw some of the colour variations out there.
That particular one doesn't come in white, but there's a digital one in that sort of style that does. There are quite a few decent casio watches when you look. Maybe I'm getting old

It's been some of the 'on wrist' photos that have won me over TBH

I agree, that would be one I'd ask for for birthday or something. I like the military black styles they do, but that orange and black just keeps calling my name

(they do an all digital one very similar to that last one too)

Ive always gone for the ones with hands...I have no idea why...its not like its really a practical function..but I think my brain can glance and take in the time faster with hands.

Not sure on the orange, but the Casio pics NEVER look the same as they do in real life...I think it would be more subtle than that..not quite as bright.

I know what you mean cu3ed.... you do actually have to read a digital, with hands you can glance down and you can process what you have seen to tell the time without really having 'read' it.

I also agree with the orange one, I would need to either see it in the flesh or at least a 'real world' photo to get a proper idea.

Pressit: I do like the whites to, just not practical if buying just the one day to day watch really
