Hi all, I'm new to body building and i know you've all heard most of the posts before.
I'm starting to understand a little bit each day from your posts although as a newbie find it very intimidating but as some or most of you say, you all started in the same place i am now, which is reasurring to know.
However there is a few questions i need to ask and hopefully you kind people can help.
At the minute i'm 30 years of age, 13/14 stone, fairly medium build and about just under 6ft. I wouldn't say i'm overly fat but do have the odd tyre when sat down but doesn't look too bad when stood up however which i hate to admit but unfortunately i have the dreaded man breasts which hopefully are down to eating crap, sweets chocolate,crisps etc for nearly two years and not doing any excersise.
However i've been going to the gym a few times a week (only started about 3 weeks ago) and tried cutting down the calories and carbs etc and been doing a lot of chest, stomach and arm exercises along with cardio stuff, running cycling and swimming.
I have felt a big reduction in my weight and size, my chest, although not flat is getting flatter. My arms are becoming more firmer as time goes but i tend to be losing weight off my arms as my weight is lost.
My question is how do i maintain my arm size or would i need to bulk up at the same time?
I dont want to be massive i just want a meduim-small size say van dame or brad pit in fight club (sorry for using these i dont want to be like them just estimating the size) i just dont want to be doing too much if i'm going come out too skinny.
Also out of the blue question is peperami any good for you? I know it's not 100% meat but near as, plus in a five pack(5 sticks) it's 22g of protein and about 1.7 carbs.
My last question which i've heard on a lot of posts that you should train for a day then give it a weeks break for muscles to recover is this correct? I've been going everyday up to now and wondered if i'm doing it wrong. do i train for a week then a weeks break or train for a day then leave it a week....sorry to sound ignorant but i dont want to be going down the wrong road if i can help it

    hi mate

    welcome to the board

    peperami is not IMo a staple part of any diet. look to leaner quality sources of protein

    have a read of the newbie thread below for some ideas
