Well done NN on weight loss without even exercising. Combine the right diet with the right exercise and you will lean up steadily. If you can get a regular caliper bodyfat test (you can buy calipers online for about a tenner I think. This will help you calculate exactly how much fat in Ibs you carry and you can track these measurements and combine with tracking your weight so that you can tell if it's fat you are losing or if you are losing muscle. It's really nice to be able to say I have lost 7Ibs of pure fat the last couple of weeks and know it to be true.

Get walking bro!

thanks again for the comments lads. yeah CASHMAN i have invested in some calipers on the earlier suggestion of someone on this strand - just a matter of getting round to using them. well i will do my first measure up tomorrow and will begin my exercise with a nice game of footy - 100lbs should be a doddle if this continues. nutrition for the day will follow shortly.

NN... read my reply to your question in my Journal about diet make-up. Also when you test BF% make sure you do it when you wake up and before you have anything to eat and drink as your water retention is at its lowest point then and will give you an accurate continual measurement over the coming weeks.

ok, i didnt post my nutrition for yesterday because even though i stuck to my guns during the day, supper was a slightly different story - having said that i reckon i burnt most of it away.
ok as promised i carried out my weight and bodyfat measurements today. my weight is 277lbs with a body fat percentage of 32.6 according to my accumeasure caliper. therefore my bodyfat weight is 90lbs. so it is now newest newbies attempts to drop 90lbs by july.
excellent.

I've dropped 100lbs in weight but in considerably longer time - 18 months. Looks like you're taking the right approach nn, more scientific than my own.

cheers monkey - every little comment helps. anyway, todays nutrition is as follows. i consumed 1132.8 cals of carbs and 131.4 cals of fat. this gave me a grand total of 1264.2 cals consumed today which leaves me with a calorific deficit of 608.8. i do feel this is too big a deficit to have but this was due to circumstance and i will not be going lower than 500 cals a day after today. this was a result of failure to shop correctly due to this weekends "distractions". BUT feel free to slate me for this. see you all again tomorrow and this sunday for the body fat calculations.

hmmm, a little surprised today. having promised myself yesterday to eat enough today i fell even shorter of my rmr today. i consumed 1091.2 cals of carbs and 122.4 cals of fat. this gave me a grand total of 1213.6 cals for the day. i think once i start throwing in some protein milkshakes here and there i should be cool.

Try and push your durations longer. You can do this by doing 40 mins in front of the telly, then with an elevated heart-rate go for a 30 min power walk. Try power walking for at least an hour total every day. It's easy to do of a lunchtime or first thing in the morning, just stick a walkman on.
