heres a little breakdown gecko. as i weigh in at some 30% fat i am just looking to drop weight. having said that because i am eating low carb and high protein i can actually see an increase in muscle tone and a slight increase in muscle mass. i was doing random weigh ins but my last 2 appear to be spaced a week apart so i may as well post 2 more weekly weigh ins before i go abroad. basically eating plenty of chicken and meats which are keeping the protein levels high and my metabolism is now on fat burning mode.

exercise is mainly the 1 hour swim i go for every morning and then i spend half an hour in the sauna. people have always been saying that it is best to do exercise that you enjoy and football aside i love swimming. beats the hell out of slogging away on a treadmill or exercise bike in a sweaty gym eh - lol

the fact that i have now finished with work means i will probably increase the exercise load to see how much i can drop in these two weeks.

anyways me next weigh in will be on the 30th. might have to go and comfort eat now after that shootout last night - bloody ref

cheers robbo. the journal does help when people give you good feedback. but notice one thing, how i kept altering my targets, it does renew your determination but you have to be more realistic. this low carb stuff is good because you keep what muscle you have. the science behind this makes sense too. when you carb load you train your body to burn carbs and when there are no carbs the body goes for muscle stores. when you train your body to burn fat then thats what it burns. since beginning my journal i have gone down from a 52 inch chest to 48 and from a 48 inch waist to 46. and my muscles also appear to be coming through (toned that is). i tell you if anyone else is looking for some pure fat loss the low carb way is working for me, and if you have always had problems sticking to something then you need to try this.

anyone reading this who needs some basic tips can drop me an email.

might have to write a book. how does "Dr Fatkins Weight Loss Manual" sound - lol

sorry lads forgot to post yesterday but here is the delayed update.
today i weigh in at 258lbs which is 5lbs down from this time last week. the fat loss appears to be speeding up due probably to the fact hat i barely consume any carbs and eat mostly meat and poultry. i believe this is 99% fat loss because since last week i have noticed that my chest is toned to such an extent that i can now flex my chest - i couldnt do that before!!! this morning i stood in front of the mirror and made my pecs dance while i whistled a tune. ok so i am still a fatty but little things like this go a long way to increasing the determination.

next week on wednesday i am leaving for my five week holiday so that will be my last post for a while. as this is the case i will also be conducting a body fat check. at the last check i was 280lbs at 31% bodyfat.

these readings should be interesting to see

mornin everyone, as promised here is the fat data analysis of my % and total lost or gained during this period of weight loss.

previous results were that i weighted in at 280lbs with a fat % of 31 which was 86lbs

the readings i took this morning are as follows

weight 254lbs, fat % 25.9 which is 66lbs

to recap, i have lost a total of 26lbs of which 20lbs is fat and 6lbs is lean muscle

i am pretty pleased with these results as i do visibly look a little leaner and i can see some of my muscles coming through.

i am also full of energy and love doing active things these days

i am off today for me hols so probably wont be posting for about 5 weeks, having said that my first post back will be another body fat % to see the damage that has been done.

once i reach a certain lower weight i will begin heavy lifting to start building up the body again

have a nice summer everyone, i know i will!!!!!

Hey everyone, guess who is back and raring to go!!! At the last check before I disappeared on holiday some three months ago I was 254 lbs with a BF% of 25.6 which was 66lbs.

When i measured in on monday the stats were as follows:

Weight was 256lbs, BF% was 19.8 which means my fat mass is 51lbs.

That means that since my last weigh in I have gained some lean mass and dropped some serious fat mass.

Anyway my firewall prevented me from posting earlier but now I am back and ready to go.

My target before I begin serious weight training is to drop down to 210lbs.

Let me know what y'all think of me progress cos I am flying right now!!!

thanks for the comments cheggers!!!

I am trying to give myself a pretty large berth to make the target weight.

I reckon I am giving myself til new years eve which should be doable

i reckon i have shown some good bouncebackability after my holidays and am now in the right frame of mind to keep progressing onwards and downwards (on the scale)

next measurements post will be up on monday - I believe I have made a s**tload more progress this week

Ok peoples, as promised here are my weight and body fat measurements for this week.
This morning I weighed in at 247lbs - which is 9lbs down from last weeks measurements. Also, my body fat this morning was 17% exactly which gives me a fat mass of 42lbs - again 9lbs down from last week.

This tells me that this week I have managed to drop 9lbs of pure fat!!! Not quite sure if that is possible and putting it down to anomalies in the fat calliper but I did check my body fat 3 times and got about the same result each time.

I have another 37lbs to drop before new years but I am feeling pretty confident considering this weeks progress. Who knows since I only have 5lbs of fat left on top of that I may as well lose them too!!!

Anyway, I would apprecaite any comments or questions from anyone out there.

My next measurements post will be up next monday.

Excellent progress mate. Well done and keep it up. Also don't worry if things start to slow down a bit as they are bound to do, if you carried on at your current rate you'd disappear in six months but you have turned yourself from a fatty to a thinny in such a short space of time it's truly amazing.

cheers mate. see comments like that do help and I am certain things will slow cos if it was that easy we would all be thin. having said that a lot of people do frown when they hear that I am following a low carb regime but the logic makes sense to me and its workin.

and the fact that my lean mass is visibly increasing at the same time does make things that tiny bit easier

cheers all

cheers geezer

i am actually quite stunned to note that I have actually lost about 50lbs very quickly and without really noticing

once i drop the other 50lbs i will be pretty cuffed and will then start building myself up

never gonna be fat again - wish i had realised that before!!!

Sounds like it's all going to plan NN. I'd echo Gecko's concerns about the muscle loss though - now you've already dropped quite a lot of fat you're likely to start burning muscle if you keep going at the same rate. If you don't have too much to start with, all the more reason to hang onto it! I know how you feel wanting to drop it all ASAP, but keep an eye on the long term.

What have you been eating and what does your daily plan look like from a nutritional perspective, meal times etc?

right now my eating plan is eat at sunrise and then dont eat til sunset - as it is ramadhan

monday i begin the tkd

and to be honest i dont even mind if the little amount of muscle i have goes because i have finally understood the process of bulking and then cutting

its not even muscle really its just toned

anyway my new progress journal begins on monday with the clen/eca which arrived today

looking forward to this!!!
