Next Man City Manager

Any thoughts on who the next City manager will be?

Lots of managers have been linked including, Big Sam, Raneiri, Ramos, Houllier.

IMO i think Chris Coleman could be next in line.

If they get a big money backer they will attract a top manager and begin reaching levels a club of their size should. If not, I can't see anyone decent wanting the job as they are a stick on to be relegated with the current squad. No doubt our manager will get linked to the job in the media though.

surely not??? You have to be joking? There must be plenty of half decent managers in the Championship who would take it on?

Cant believe they are after Ramos as if he would leave Sevilla after winning 2 UEFA cups and they are up there with Real and Barca to move to a team who battles against relegation every season

The lack of interest in this thread kind of reinforces MrIan's point of no one wanting the job!

Pearce had a great first season (just missed out on Europe thanks to Fowler missing a penalty in the last game) then kept them up this year with a very limited transfer budget (although he didn't make a great job of the budget he had). They think like a big club, but they're not, and after the way they treated Pearce they'll struggle to bring in anyone as good/better than what they sacked. Yes, they'll get someone to take the job, but will he be any good?

Think I might put my money on Eriksson if I had to put it on someone, but he'd do nothing without a big budget.

Don`t think that they think like a big club at all mate, it`s a bit of a shambles tbh at the moment lol, ok not one of the top 4 and probably never will be in this business but certainly up there in the top 8 clubs in the country.

OK with Ramos at Sevilla everything looks rosey and he has every reason to stay but he may be warped enough to want to take on the challenge, who knows.

Personally would like to see Co Adriannes, bit of an oddball but has a good track record.

    eriksson??? pah!!!

    id like anyone except
hughes, strachan, davies or any of the other numptys that have been mentioned

we've got no chance of getting anyone cos they ****ing around too much, we've missed out on a month of transfers already so we'll probably end up not bringing anyone in, then having to spend loads in january to stay up (after the takeovers sorted)

I think Strachan could do a good job. Can't see Mark Hughes taking it - him and Keane will both be fancying themselves taking over from Ferguson

Don't know why the board want a foreign manager.

Sven, wouldn't let him wash my dustbins out - waste of space, waste of money

Would you want it with the amount of debt they have?? They also have to contend with being the 2nd club in Manchester, they also have the reputation for getting rid of managers pretty quick.

Manchester City are a bigger club than Blackburn in every sense of the word.

Apart from recent league positions of course

Out of all those mentioned, Eriksson is the most experienced and is right up there as one of the most successful at club level.

He is a fantastic club coach.

I agree Strachan would be a good choice, but why would he want the job? Picking up medals in the SPL and building a team that is progressing in the CL. I know if a big job came in the EPL he may head for it but I can't see the City Job being appealing. (Unless a big money backer comes in).

group of clubs that never achieve much, just merely exhist in the premiership

    fulham
    blackburn
    aston villa
    newcastle

any matches between these teams (i.e. fulham vs aston villa) makes me sleepy thinking about it

yo yo clubs - relagated -promoted - relegated
    man city
    sunderland
    birmingham
    middlesbourough

these clubs are for managers wanting a challenge in turning the club around. Man City is not a club i would like to take over

Couple of things; you missed pompey from the former group. Also, the man city post would be a good one provided the funds are there, there is an excellent fanbase and ground.
