ONLY eggs for protein

OKay, lets pretend your really poor and cannot afford to eat big. But you own a chicken farm so eggs are free. DONT LAUGH

What if i replaced every protein based meal with eggs. So that i remain 1lb LBM--2g protein.

Eggs being the most complete and healthy protein of all natural proteins shouldnt this be a good diet?

Very low in fat if you filter the yolk. lets say you take EFA's as a sup. YEA I KNOW YOUR POOR> But we are pretending.

A whole egg is a complete protein so i dont know for sure if others are really needed... I suspect you are correct but i would like to see some evidence. Time to google.

It would be a very poor diet. If you were to filter the yolks out you would lose most of the vitamins and also leave a poorer quality protein (whole egg has better quality protein than egg white)

Never rely on just one protein source, regardless of how good it is it will never provide the variety of nutrients required to support growth.

REALLY best to vary diet as different proteins contain diffrent amino acids which are all needed to process the protein.

I know eggs are a good source, but variety is the key.

If you're so skint you can't afford different proteins (whey, tuna are cheap), then how are you going to afford EFAs like oily fish and nuts?

You must leave some yolks in otherwise you'll be getting 91% of total kcals from protein which will kill you. As eggs are low in carbs, you'll have to go easy on the intense exercises. If the eggs are from free-range birds that eat worms, grubs & vegetation, you won't need EFA supps.

EDIT: Whoops, sorry! I misread that as replacing every meal with eggs.

In theory yes since eggs are such a wonderful food.

If your entire diet was eggs + an abundance of fruit and veg I don't think you'd have too many problems at all, obviously it wouldn't be ideal but you'd be a lot healthier than most people since you'd be getting plenty of good protein and a perfect ratio of EFA's.
