Off season for bodybuilders !!

Right guys, this may sound like a daft ass question, but i have never really understodd what off season means....

Judging by seeing pics of the gys during it, Trey Brewer for example!

Off season consists of les training and gorging on any food in sight. IE junk food, crisps, choc?

am i wrong ?

I may be wrong, but I always just presumed off-season was when they bulked up, not worrying about bf%. They still train equally hard I imagine?

Off season is where they train heavy and hard whilst eating vast amounts of food to put on more muscle mass. They still train just as hard and eat clean (at least some do) but the portions are just massive. Apparently 7000+ calories for the big guys.

It really depends mate.  If your talking about pros then like not the fish said, they eat relativley clean and just increase portion size.  Saying that have you seen markus ruhl in off season, he looks like a baloon.  He even admits to eating junk.  Its just means people who go for that approach will have to diet longer than most.

For recreational bodybuilders e.g. myself, I like to look good all the time.  Even though I dont compete I like to diet down for diff things (holidays or special occasions) and when I bulk (off season) ill still do cardio and eat clean which allows me to put on a bit of size but stay in some sort of condition.

thats the one. basically eat, train and sleep. some proably eat much more than 7000kcals per day, i dont know if its true but apparently the guy from 'rocky 4' (not sylvester stallone) used to eat around 16000kcals per day when he played american football, i just cant see it being true though surely thats just to much food lol
