    Predictions for the season:

Red Bull for another win (Webber this time). Mercedes to be the biggest surprise, with Schumacher regaining some of his sparkle now that he's been involved from the birth of the current car.

Suspect Renault could have done good things and quite gutted not to have the pleasure of watching Kubica - hopefully his recovery continues and we'll see him again in 2012 in full health and on top form.

Can't wait to see if any of the new blood is as feisty as Kobayashi! It'd be great to see di Resta do well in the blossoming Force India.

I reckon Heidfeld's beard will end the season slightly bushier than Alonso's eyebrows, but the Spaniard will take it to the wire.

Loving the **** tyres. So much better than introducing bull**** artificial overtaking ideas like KERS.

I only found out today that the overtaking zones are an actual reality and there is an 800m zone at Melbourne.

Tyres should throw up all sorts of weird results until teams get a good handle on them.

Im really interested in how Massa does this year.

I think alonso will win this year but really hope not.

I too think schumacher will back with a vengeance. Would certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons!

i think its shaping up to be a great season! pirelli have delivered some great racing with the new tyres!

lots of good cars on track and some great racing.

wasnt too sure about the DRS to start with, but think its a good idea overall, seems to work just enough, without spoiling things.

Certainly of the first few races are anything to go by it should be a good season.

Did you hear about about Ecclestone saying he wants to introduce track wetting, so they can do it on a whim to catch teams out.... how stupid can you be - let's send guys out in stupidly fast cars and then, without any warning, give them unpredictable and dangerous driving conditions to 'spice it up some'

does he really think that would be a good idea DV?  sounds ridiculous!

why dont they fire grenades at them down the start finish straight and have random bollards that pop out of the floor as well.... probably no more dangerous!

Ahhh been meaning to bump this!

LMAO @ the gif, what a quality moment!

Last season was cracking (well the last race got ruined for me when my daughter came running in telling me SB had won the Championship just as I sat down to watch it recorded !!!!!!!!!!!!!) but I think we're in for a gooden this seasons. Was skeptical about the tyres but they're certainly making it more interesting and mixing things up

Heard about the track wetting, I just find that absurd. If nature provides a sudden downfall and people skid off and go all over the place then no one can be blamed. But if they drench the track and make it dangerous then it's just f**king stupid

who's in favour of this rear wing scenario to help overtaking?
now any car can whizz by regardless of performance due to the aerodynamic edge.
Yes its improved overtaking but its now slapped a handicap on the defending driver who has fought/drove hard for that position.

Well the driver behind still has to have caught him up.... and then he's behind and has the edge - unless the guy is legitamtely faster in which case he will lose the guy before the next big straight and chance.

agree, the car following has to have got within the one second gap, which is what has always been difficult given the aero, so they still need a faster car and the talent to get into that window in the first place
