Old injuries & issues arising

I am wondering if anyone else on MT has had a serious thigh injury?
I ask because when I was 19/20 I got my leg badly hurt in a football tackle. This affects my flexibility now which is affecting my ability to perform deadlifts correctly.
The injury was as below
Severe haematoma in my thigh un-diagnosed for 3 weeks resulting in need for a 8 inch incision to remove solid clot & dead tissue of the thigh (front quad).
Ruptured ACL in right knee & some meniscus (cartilage) damage resulting in keyhole surgery
All this resulted in a year of not walking and lots of physio.
It is now 12 years later and I have build some decent strength back up in my thighs even the one that had the injury and have no residual issues with the cruciate ligament. I am just super un(in)flexible, I mean I cannot even pass my shins with straight legs and haven't been able to since the injury.
Anyone had similar or is an expert in this kind of thing, I'd be happy to hear your thoughts.
On the plus side I have been left with a cool scar nearly the length of my thigh - Silver linings!!
