Good sessions mate but definitely not worth the world of pain. Are you thinking of 20 rep sets etc when you say reps and ht?

I think so mate, the 15-20 rep range is where growth can be optimal, either that or it'll at least count towards the CV..LOL

Salary mate. I'm on pretty good money tbh, have a fuel card, and I'm building up a new line of work from China & Sri Lanka which will be very profitable, so I have lots of extra stuff to do as well as the usual things. It's swings and roundabouts, last week I was on call so copped everything out of hours which just made the days longer. I'm not on call for 2 weeks which just makes the working day busy, and I don't have to worry about anything at hometime.

Got to be done mate. Chasing my dream lifts always ends like this. I can't put up with this pain anymore. Full TART it is.

Do you fully know what is the route cause of your problems?

There are so many ways to skin a cat you are spoiled for choice for HT routines but considering your issues I would look for higher volume routines that run for shorter cycle waves, they tend to be less prone to top end training and the frequent change in cycles means you can keep swapping exercises in an out before you get to the point where your adaptation to the movement pushes you to the top end of what you can load for them.

Reps you can vary from 6-20 TBH. Always have a 2-4 reps in the tank other than perhaps the odd peak week and let the volume, form and focus do your work.

But prioritise what the route cause of this is as TBH, any loading could bother it, maximal or not

You know what mate, I have an idea it was the Leg Press the day before, I stupidly went too deep and thought I felt something go in my lower back. When I was dead/rack pulling the next day I just thought my back was sore from the previous day, and carried on regardless. Whatever was there I then over-strained. Feels like someone is crushing my lower back.

Went to the dentist earlier and had to get them to raise the chair right up because I couldn't get up myself, felt a right twat...lol

Wise words for the HT shizzle mate, hoping I can start in a couple of days with some pressing.

Wise words from the vest..

Heavy or light, singles or reps, if you have an issue, you need to sort it. Let it heal. Then find the cause. In my experience, look down stream. Hips, knees, Ankles and all the muscles in between. Eliminate them systematically until the culprit is found

Very wise.

This is the exact area, in fact the red zone could be a few inches lower, and the pain is now also pulsing down and around the hips. I really hope it eases off as it's becoming a little depressing now.

Feels like my back has started the healing process, & is easing off slowly. I can't explain how happy this makes me after 4 days.

My joy was short lived it just let me know it's not finished with me yet, just stood up for a short while to sort some files out and the bending over nearly seized it all up again. Bloody wonderful.

Sounds painful mate...have you seen a sports massage therapist...they maybe give you an idea of what is wrong...you may need an Osteo after but it would give you an indication of the root cause of the pain.
