Optimum Time to Take Supplements

Hi , I'm pretty new to the forum, I have been going to the gym for a little over a month now and am starting to really get into it, I do a 4 day split of Chest/triceps, biceps/shoulders, back/abs, legs/cardio, I have decided to invest in some creatine and 100% gold standard whey, but I am a little unsure about when to actually take these, Whether or not pre or post workout or at any point in the day? Any suggestions and general tips to make the best use out of these supplements would be much appreciated! Thanks, Dev

EDIT: I forgot to ask about the cycle for creatine, I am looking to bulk then cut is creatine effective during bulking? And if so should i be loading it or taking a fixed amount daily?

Creatine: take 5g of it a day. It doesn't matter when, and you don't need to load it.

Whey: you take it whenever your diet is lacking in protein. There is no right or wrong answer to this. Whey is just food, nothing more. But it is useful for taking post-wo and first thing in the morning because it's basically the quickest most convenient source of protein you can have.
