Orange network - Mobile - Network down?

I've had no signal since yesterday. Im just wondering if anyone else on Orange is having the same problem? I ring up my mates who are on orange from my landline and all of them go through to the answerphone so im sure its not my phone thats gone tits up.

At last its back. It was the orange network. Not for all users though it seems, unless it was just the area I live.

admittedly a wee bit off topic (as I'm on 02!) but when we had the London bombings, at least in my part iof London (i.e. very near the scenes of crime), 02 closed down their services immediately on instructiions from the authorities so that the police, army and other emergency services would have immediate access and so on. Did'nt realize it at the time but found out later...a good idea I thought.

    Cheers

Is there not special sim card which people who really need their phone (ie emergency services) can use their phone and all other calls can't get through as they are bothered about dealing with the situation and everyones family + stuff can just wait?

Yes, my girflriends brother in law is a senior army officer and he was telling me about these phones before the bombings. Apparently they are hugely expensive.
