Overhead PB

It's my second time doing this exercise so I'm pretty happy with 125. I did 115 on tuesday, brought it back down onto my back from overhead and it slipped down backwards! Almost tore my arms off, so today I used the blocks.

Reason for this exercise... Well my right wrist is injured so I can't jerk from the front position. I'm doing a power jerks over a split jerkas as my knee and back ain't too pretty atm either haha. Perseverence is key!

Anyway enough rambling.



135 soon I think.

    That's the illusion jerks have though mate. They have to be fast otherwise they don't work 
     
    I tried 130 and pussied out. Didn't even jump. Soon though!

    There is that.... not like you can grind one out. If it had been head on I may have appreciated the effort required more

    I've done the same re the bar slipping, might be worth chalking up your traps and rear delts if you're doing doubles and triples.

    Never again! I can feel my shoulders ripping out just thinking about it. I'll use to blocks from now. Bringing it down infront is fine when wrist isn't an issue. How's your lifting going?

    Nit picking, but try not to dip as much as you did in the video. Short dip and snap.
    Less movement (saves engery) and also less chance of losing that line.

    Ok cheers evertonfc. I know what you mean. I think it comes from being a slow powerlifter originally and then moving onto weightlifting. I can't generate force as quickly as I'd like in a short. Takes a larger ROM to create the force I need as muscle activation is slow. I'm gradually getting more snappy on everything. I'll pay more attention to a shorter dip and see how it goes.

    Excellent. I know what you mean about lifts either looking easy or failing being a fine line but that really didn't look near max!
     
    We're jerk PB twins now too. Mine was from the front though. BTN always scared me

    No biggie like, there are a lot worse things for you than using steroids, I mean I probably shouldn't have been smoking crack or getting into bar fights at your age TBH  - drab4
