Another poor nights sleep, this is an area I really need to try and improve but always is an issue when my mental health not 100%, toying with trying some strong CBD oil before bed to see if that helps. Anyways, got to keep moving forwards so todays session...

Session 2

V Squat Machine

40kg x 10
80kg x 10
120kg x 10
160kg x 10
200kg x 5
240kg x 2
280kg x 10 rep pb
300kg x 6 rep pb

Strength well up on these, 260kg x 8 was my log book number to beat, smashed it.

Belt Squats

140kg x 12 rep pb
160kg x 6 rep pb

Again strength well up, 135kg x 10 was my log book number to beat, smashed that too.

Incline Bench Cuffed Side Cable Lateral Raise

25kg x 25 rep pb
25kg x 15
25kg x 12 volume pb

Insane pumps, such a great movement and the medial delt activation is immense, numbers well up.

Lying Side One Arm Cuffed Cable Lateral Raise

35kg x 15 rep pb
37.5kg x 10 rep pb
37.5kg x 10
drop
27.5kg x 6

Again nice increases and the pump was crazy, was difficult to raise my arms after this.

Behind Back Cable Raise

50kg a side x 6 rep pb
45kg a side x 10 rep pb
45kg x 7

These are brutal on the biceps, the stretch and activation is massive, a favourite lift of mine.

Praying Pressdowns

60kg x 10 rep pb
60kg x 8

Starting to hurt elbows as pressdowns always do...considering working in the 20-30 rep range instead. Log book still beat but not worth continuing with if elbows agitated.

Lying EZ Cable Curls

40kg x 12 rep pb
40kg x 8
35kg x 10

Another tough movement, biceps really struggling by set 3, the behind back curls wasted them, these finished it off.

Bent Over EZ Tricep Pressback

30kg x 12
30kg x 12

These could be a good way to move forward, very nice squeeze allowed in triceps from these, might see if I can continue to build them for now.

Done.

It will be interesting to see how you feel MH wise when you come off your blast.

For me , test helps massively, but when I blast with any exotic(anything but test), you feel great in the beginning, like a million bucks... but I’ve noticed that the black dog builds and build in the background, not massively noticeable day to day, but overtime it gets worse and worse. This is one of the reasons I now limit blasts to 6 weeks, 8 max.

Having done loads of cycles I can def see a correlation between these exotics and deteriorating MH. And I can only think it’s because test is a natural hormone where the other types of gear knocks everything out of sort. Brain chemistry is finely balanced and if you are susceptible to out of wack dopamine or serotonin levels it makes it even worse.

It will mate...it usually helps me too tbh but there are so many stresses currently it seems to be outweighing things.
Don't get me wrong i'm no where near where I was 3 years back when I lost pretty much everything...I have a loving partner, great kids and the start of a flourishing business but the worry over my mother has been a catalyst if you will and made everything that bit darker. Every time the phone goes when i'm not expecting it I get very anxious and silly little things nearly tip me over the edge. I have coping strategies these days and it does help and as said my partner is just amazing, she holds me up at times.

Will see how I feel once blast ends, hopefully not worse lol!

Me too mate. And yes while your mum is the big thing that’s getting to you as you can’t controo it, It’s the silly little things that do tip us over..

I had a full breakdown in Aldi coz they moved the fresh veg to somewhere else in the store end of 2017. I sobbbed in my car for 45mjn until someone could come and get me.

And I feel like the little things are much harder to deal with when blasting. Normal things that I can deal with just seem harder to process.

Glad you’ve got your support network mate. Makes a big difference

Ah mate I know what you mean. My car playing up week before last set me off...normally I'd just shrug it off...but I just collapsed with it, it felt like the straw that broke the camels back. Next day I got it sorted and it was nothing but at the time it just broke me. The missus has just been incredible, i'm very very lucky.

Mate great session. I don't know anhything about CBD oil/sleep sups but would this not make you groggier in the morning if knocking you out at night?

Glad to see things progressing well on the training front. Will be interesting to see how things go with the coach. Will you be following their instructions to a T or will it be a bit of give and take??? If he's an experienced guy I'm sure you'll learn tons.

I follow Jamie Johal, on Instagram and he did a story about how he forked out a fair bit to be trained by Milos Sarcev and that, that was the key to him winning his pro card.

Ta bud.

CBD oil is meant to just help in relaxation so should be ok. I don't really want to go down the medication route if poss. I'm looking at a few supps that's are meant to help and will be trying a few things out I think mate.

Thanks bud.

No like I expect from my clients I will follow plans to a T, pointless doing otherwise as the coach always has an end goal insight and is planning it for you, may as well continue alone if I was to do that mate.

Yeah I follow Jamie too bud, yes a good coach can take you a long way...this one looks to be ideal, still in talks at the mo but i'm quite excited by the prospect tbh and having the planning side of my training and nutrition took away so I can focus on my clients :)

Poor sleep again last night but the session today was an utter stonker, one of those sessions you have to keep checking you've not misloaded as everything felt so light.

Session 3

Incline Smith Bench

40kg x 12
80kg x 12
100kg x 12
120kg x 12 rep pb
140kg x 6 rep pb

Nice increases, 2 reps up on each working set...weight felt light and I was getting some nice contractions in upper chest, felt very good today, much stronger than last week.

Incline Hammer Press

120kg x 10
160kg x 8 rep pb
95kg + Purple Band x 10 rep pb
100kg + Purple Band x 8 rep pb

Again log book smashed, 2 reps up on the 160kg, 4 reps up on first band set and a new bigger weight to round the exercise off. Chest felt smashed.

Pec Dec

112kg + Purple Band x 13 rep pb
112kg + Purple Band x 8
112kg + Purple Band x 7
drop
91kg + Purple Band x 5
drop
70kg + Purple Band x 6

Smashed it, reps up every set and the drop at the end totally trashed pecs, nice dull ache all over. Needed to bring my crappy chest up to par.

Smith Rows

80kg x 12
120kg x 15
160kg x 5

Lat feeling good, these all moved well and got a great pump going.

Close Grip Pulldowns

70kg x 20
90kg x 10

Building back slowly, no pain and felt good.

Straight Arm Rope Pulldowns

30kg x 15
30kg x 12

Again, coming back slow but these felt great, nice pump.

Bent Over Cuffed Lateral Raise

27.5kg x 15 rep pb
30kg x 8 rep pb

Huge jump in reps on set 1 and new bigger weight on set 2, rear delts popping well from these, feel great.

Mid Point Paused Seated Hamstring Curls

95kg x 7 rep pb
90kg x 11 rep pb
90kg x 7
90kg x 7

Hamstrings left screaming from these, the pause is an utter killer. I hobbled away lol.

Job done, felt really good today.

Cheers buddy. Nope its feeling very good, a tad tight to begin with but that's scar tissue, careful warming up and it felt 100%, keeping on top of rolling and ball work and massages too so its coming back. Shoulder still fcuked though but then it has been for 2 years lol.

Pushing as hard as I can this off season, will likely have a deload week the week after next as I am off work the week so be nice to try and chill with my daughter, my missus and step son.

Sleep still not great, bit better last night, I did get into some proper deep sleep but woke up a fair bit and did my usual ping wide awake at 4am.
