Big ass deads session today, back loosened up from the get go and I toyed with trying 275kg again and just doing the 1 required rep with 232.5kg but I am trying to be sensible and get my rep work done. 8 reps @ 232.5kg was pretty maximal, I possibly had 1 maybe 2 more there but I ate too close to pulling and I threw up in my mouth on the 5th and 7th rep, most unpleasant! My calculator says that puts me on 290kg ish, don't think that its accurate for deads, it is for pressing but not sure I have 290 in me, I think 280kg could be there based on that though. Anyway I pulled a tough 255 double after and a slow but clean 265kg, the reps took their toll. I then proceeded to get a second wind, I think the caffeine tabs kicked in and did a ton of reverse band work close to my 290kg max, i'm going to pull 300kg with the bands very soon I feel as 285kg heavily fatigued went nice and clean each time with minimal rest. I was planning on just 10 singles but blocked out the pain and just kept pulling every 60 seconds and got plenty done, back was in bits after tho :)

Found a gem here. Put in to try and build some strength for yoke walks, seems a decent way to train yoke in the gym. My midsection was insanely sore following these and it really feels like a productive movement, my entire body is feeling the after effects of these now.

Great session, deads are soaring, new form feeling bang on. Step ups felt great if tough and general conditioning and strength all on the up.

Cheers pal, i'm really trying to focus on reps, though it has to be said I hate deadlifting over 5 reps! If I can avoid temptation to max I think the next time I do try in a few months a huge pb maybe there...hoping to be close to 290kg.
Reps are working their magic for me :)

280kg would be nice but only a 7.5kg increase In a year, being greedy I want 285-290kg but i'll take whatever I can get :)

Mmm, dunno mate tbh, that rep PB today equates to 292kg on my max calculator - the same calculator is accurate to within 2-3kg on most of my movements but not sure on deads but it was last time I maxed - I got 250kg x 3 to get my 272.5kg, the calculator put me on nearly 275kg so it was pretty accurate.
 
Until the bars locked out tho its all guess work! I will just keep repping and seeing where it takes me, 232.5kg today felt very light which was nice :)

My midsection is in tatters, the step ups for time have destroyed me I can barely stand up, mid section doesn't want to hold me up! Awesome!

Hopefully mate, they are feeling the best they ever have and coupled with new form and rep set up scheme I think I have a chance at some good progress on them at long last!

Great stuff mate, I'm sure you'll be throwing all sorts around. I've been trying to find somewhere to get a bit done this weekend, but Junctions kindof closed and minimal strongman stuff apparently, otherwise its about 60-90minutes each way to anything decent that I have found so far.

Might try to start work on a DIY log instead....


Always  tricky finding somewhere decent, my old training camp has gone so i'm hoping for the best with this new place, just no one to train with :(
 
I made a wooden log once it was pretty decent!
