PC gamers - Driver update problem

I know there are a few pc gamers on here and Im not having any luck on the nerd forums so thought I would try the meatheads.

In short I built a custom PC a few months back (upgraded since then) that's a pretty decent rig. For those of you who understand its

AMD Ryzen 1700 (2nd generation)
16 Gb memory
Geforce gtx1060 (6gb memory)
Windows 10 running on SSD

Wont go into more detail than that. Anyway games like COD WW2 ran perfectly on pretty much ultra everything as do all my games. Apart from Mortal Kombat X which one minute is 60fps then jerky and annoying. Was recommended a fix which worked for about 10 mins. Apparently there have been various patches which I cannot find so downloading it off steam, again as we speak cos surely its the most recent patched version

My big gripe is that the obvious thing to do is update graphics drivers which I did and now some of my other games are affected like COD!! Dropped the res (not that it was an issue) and same. So pissed off that I cant play it cos as soon as I get to a real hard but if it starts to jerk im screwed

I don't know if I set up system restore point to roll back the drivers but I don't really want to be using old drivers, even though they work about from Mortal Kombat X which was a disaster. Something like 11 patches have been released. I downloaded it but COD is bought. I half a half paid/half pirate library. Games are getting to dear to be buying all the time!

Anyone got ideas? I don't want to start playing around with the bios. Must be something simple wrong
Can't remember who the gamers are but remember @partyboy is/was. @cu3ed is as useful as a cock flavoured lolly these days@Wrong'un maybe. Ideas from anyone would be great.

Downloaded the XL version which has a benchmark which suggested what settings your system should use. during the benchmark the play was absolutely perfect and it suggested basically maximum everything.

So I start playing the game and its bloody stuttering again. Im raging now!

Hi mate. I'm no expert but have managed to sort a few issues in the past.

It is weird how it seems to work okay for a bit then goes scrappy. Almost sounds like a memory issue. Are the ram sticks on the recommended motherboard vendor list? I had years of random issues like this only to find it was unsupported ram.

Another thing I'll add is some games just get left behind. I'm a big mass effect fan and have all three games. Whenever I want to play the second one though I have to roll back to an older driver as the shadows go bad with the newer drivers.

That's all I can think of for now sorry.

Well I have had an official response from nvidia which seems quite complex so will try that and report back. PC should not be struggling to play a game that's 2 years old

It seems to be sorted. Nvidias solution worked for about half an hour. Then the problem started again. I simply rolled back to an older set of drivers and the problem was fixed. Not going to bother updating them again unless forced too

Nice one mate. Word of advice make sure you note which driver works and even save a copy of the driver on your HDD. You might want to play it again one day on a new rig and if you are like me you won't remember lol
