Peanuts 2015 Training

So I tried doing a journal last year and it lasted about a month before I gave up! My training was slightly more consistent but still need to improve.

So this is where I'm gonna log my workouts and keep track of the weights I'm lifting.

I'm training full body 3x a week with cardio/resistance circuits on other two days. I'll be lifting 3 sets of 6 per exercise and increasing weight as soon as I have achieved it.

Ps I'm tiny and weak.

I'm probably going a bit light on weights as trying to gauge it as just coming back from a bit of a break. Not quite back at pre xmas lifts yet.

    Welcome to the journal thread!

It does take a bit of time to get back into the swing of things, and it's best not to rush and try anything silly. Talking from experience there because getting injured sucks fat ones!

    Today's session:

    Bench: 60kg done
    WG Pullups: BW done

Did cable flyes and reserve cable flyes as well as lateral raises as well but went to 10 reps as I don't like going so heavy on these exercises.

Also did leg press which I'm not sure is great for me. Also seem to feel niggles in my lower back and knees afterwards.

Don't really like today's session so will change it around a bit for next week. Happy with my other two sessions though so shall stick to this routine for the time being.

I train before work and my old gym was close to work. I changed jobs a few months back so left my gym and it took a while to sort my new gym membership out. That was the only reason for the break in training.

Never had any serious injuries. A few niggles with my knees so I am cautious with some things although never actually had a serious knee issue. Also seem to have an issue in my back which flares up when doing bent over rows so avoid these now. Other than that tho I'm injury free.

Nothing "tiny or weak" about those sessions bud. Injuries aside, keep the journal going as it will motivate you getting advice from others. Good luck with your goals. Subbed :)

Cheers Floydy, although compared to a lot of guys on here I'm lifting nothing.

    Today's session:
    Squats: 80kg done
    Hammer Shoulder Press: 70kg x 6,5,4
    Incline DB Press: 28kg x 5,5,5
    Single Arms Rows: 30kg done
    Flyes: 16kg done
    Pulldowns: 25kg done

Slightly altered workout from last Monday as couldn't get on decline bench so did a little swap around with my Wednesday session.

Don't put yourself down so much mate. Nobody here is in competition with anyone else - we train for ourselves and to our own ability. I look at these guys doing their strongman training and I am awestruck at the weights they are lifting and I try to get somewhere close to no avail, and although I'm beginning a similar thing this month it isn't my regular style of training but what the hell.

Do your own thing, keep the sessions regular, add weight each time and you'll get stronger and more muscly. Above all, enjoy your training mate :)

Cheers guys. Comments like those are always helpful for a confidence boast.

Just gotta keep putting weight on the bar. First goals are to get to 100kg on deads and squats.

Good man, keep it going and results will come! Before you know it, it will be 105kg, then 110kg... Keep on grinding away.
