People trying to talk to you during a set....

This happens so much at my gym and personally i think its so irritating. Smashing through a set, headphones in, then some chap comes over and decides to try and have a discussion with me?

Is it just me or does this **** other people off too?

Sorry for the rant!

Wouldn't bother me to be honest some people try and break the ice and make friends here and there
It would be rude if you have to stop what you are doing at that moment in time half way through but I have no trouble smashing a set and talking at the same time

Yeah, I have no problem with making friends but surely it'd make sense to wait until i've finished my set? haha. To be fair, I'm usually quite antisocial in the gym and like to get through my workouts at a high pace and keep focused.

Its annoying but I know a lot of people wherever I go so people just naturally chat but what really does my head in is when someone wants something near you or the weights you are using and says how many you got?  or do you need that? right in the middle of the set.
Im straining my balls off and I gotta answer this idiot who cant wait 10 seconds. Ive had a go at a few people over that.

I personally always wait until the end of someone's set to ask anything.

Yeah this is what happened the other day, was doing some seated rows and the guy come over and said something but i just completely ignored him and finished my set whilst he stood there awkwardly. Then he proceeds to say "Do you know where they keep anymore of these handles?", Politely answered his question but also added that i was mid set and he should've waited.

Yeah it really pisses me off when friendly folk try and interact

Why don't you just zone out and ignore them? Don't make eye contact and just ignore them, they'll soon get the hint not to chat **** whilst you're lifting… between sets is fine

    Current PB's
    100kg Clean & Jerk
    110kg Bench

We've got a lot of knowledgeable staff at our gym so the noobs don't usually ask us veterans too much.

What annoys me are those 9 stone idiots hogging benches to do partial DB press at 5Kgs... :(

nobody really bothers me, elle says i wear a strong 'fck off' face and always look angry... i call it my bitchy resting face lol.

i get more fcked off with people broaching my personal and what i class 'safe space' when lifting.
I.e. you are squatting or deadlifting and you have some peon drift in front or behind you really really close to get around the gym or to a weight plate

Just ignore them until your finished, wait until their on a heavy lift,
then mid way through go "going anywhere nice this year".

I keep earphones in during sets, so that usually keeps people away, but I chat at other times happily as I've made a few friends in the new gym

That ****s me off no end. I've told people to **** off mid set before because of that.

Fortunately nobody has tried to talk to me mid-set. If they did I'd just ignore them.

I just ignore anyone that talks to me mid set.

Training with a lot of Olymlic lifters, the rule is your don't walk infront of someone whilst they lift. There have been almost physical fights due to people doing this when someone's going for a record.

    Body Weight - 83kg
    Bench - 145kg
    Squat - 190kg
    Clean & Jerk - 129kg
    Snatch - 98kg

    LMAO.
    Oh yes.
Not very long ago, I was doing SLDL, which turned into rest pause SLDL as grip was being gyppy.
The bar is maybe three seconds on the floor and some Arfur Braincell walks over the effing thing just as I go to ram it upwards.
Caught the back end of a sharp tongue lashing, I tell thee. :D
