Pesky car insurance

I've been a named driver for 3 years. 2 years for when I first started driving under my old-mans name, and the 1 year on my old-mans name but with a seperate insurence.

I've just pulled out a new policy on my own, and if I provide 3 years named driver experience it knocks a good bit of cash off for me, I've had 3 weeks initially to get the proof and send it off.

I have the proof from the last one ready to send. But the first 2 years from a previous policy are taking the piss. We went through a broker, they said they contacted them for us (2 weeks ago) and we should have it. They are taking the piss, I now have only 5 sunny days to get this other peice of evidence and send it to them in order for my policy amount to stay the same and no increase in price.

Not my fault, these other car insurance company people taking a long time, which is effecting me.

My father has to deal with it because it was under his name, so unfortunately I can't ring up and give abuse.

But he will be ringing up AGAIN tonight and if I'm not happy I'll make him ring up again and shout some abuse over the phone and tell them to pull their middle finger out and do their jobs properly

OH DEARY ME

Rant over, apologies. FFS.

EDIT - There , thats better

It's a joke I'm well pissed off. I will be not be a very nice person if they mess this policy up for me, I will really be complaining big time and giving a load of trouble. (Not to my current policy).

    PLEASE WATCH THE EXPLETIVES

Can't believe they're asking for evidence for years of driving experience, i just sorted my first insurance policy out today and they just asked how much experience i had, no documentation or proof required.

It seems the women who was supposed to send my letter off back last month, didn't. They said it will be sent out first class tomorrow morning.

FFS like, why can't people do their jobs properly. Very annoyed.

Old company have nothing to gain by sending on documents so they don't care.

New company have lots to gain by not sending on documents so they are inflexible

    Insurance companies are legalized criminals

I'm just learning to drive - got my first car in February. Used that website advertised on TV - confused.com

Filled in the form, answered all their q's. List didn't look too bad. Am female, 30ish, small 1.2l 10 year old car. Got list of quotes from around £300.

So I rang the first one on the list, they started asking more q's, price starts to go up. I then let on I officially have a conviction for breach of the peace (I went swimming in a scottish loch at midnight - got arrested for it!) which is counted as no different as any conviction like murder, theft etc, so they won't insure me.

I tried the next one, yes they will insure me but add a few 100 on as I can't prove I was named driver on my ex's car - he was a violent, nasty man who I certainly don't want to go asking for anything from.

The list continues, same thing so I went back to the second one on the list and end up paying twice their original quote - so £700, but not bad for a learner I suppose - but then again I am not going to be driving on my own, am a girl and my car only cost £1500 to buy.

Anyway confused.com isn't all it's cracked up to be - I still had to ring everyone on the list to get a proper quote. Still guess they gave me a starting point.

Oh and don't try swimming in lochs late on a summer night after a few drinks, it doesn't go down too well.

I have not read all of this but, even if your premiums go up in the short term your premiums will come back down as soon as you can produce the documentation. Therefore you will only be out of pocket hopefully for one payment. (As long as it don’t take them longer than 1 month to sort out)
