Milk in a post-workout shake? Doesn't that sort of eliminate the point of protein getting into your system really fast? From what I understand of milk protein, it's a much slower digesting protein.. it takes a lot longer than whey to get in your system, which isn't what you want post workout. Looks tasty tho :-)

    Spot on jdhar.

Ideally you want whey in water with some form of high GI carb.

Your right we are all here to learn. And I appreciate the comments.

At the moment, im losing weight and attempting to build some muscle at the same time.

My work outs are usually pretty late and I dont get home until 8:30-9PM. So generally a protein shake, and hour later some eggs and then some sleep.

Oh I might also mention, I just cannot stomach protein powder and water. My recepie is very quick, dosent leave much mess and is pretty cheap.

Anyways im from Melbourne for those that wish to know and I look forward to learning a lot from you guys.

if he's using whey powder what does it matter if he uses milk or water doesn't that just depend on whether you want to gut out the sugars or not. And i thought post workout you would want to get those sugars in your system?

DerMalePhonkMann, I live in Mentone, good to hear there are some locals here, dont feel so lonely now!

I am using Cell Biology protein powder, its $30 or $35 for a 1Kg tin. Tastes horrible, however as its the only protein I have ever had, for all I know it could taste fantastic against other powders. The MAX's etc.. Seem a little expensive for my tastes. What do you use?

Oh I also bought a box of Max's recovery banana bars. When I am going to be away from protein for a while I grab one out of the box. They taste OK and are very handy. Oh and im also addicted to the Aussie Bodies protein drinks you can buy at petrol stations!

Not tried that brand. I was using Max's WPI when I was in Oz. It tastes much better than Aussie Bodies and I think it's a better product.

There is a great shop on Chapel Street, Prahan. It's in between Commercial Rd. and Greville St. on the East side (just down from the big Rebel sports store).

It's run by a really dodgy Indian guy, but he has cheap stuff. $110 for 3kg of Max's WPI.
